Are you setting yourself up for failure?

Its common knowledge that 95% of most small to medium style business will fail in the first 5 years. That's a hard fact to swallow when your new, keen and motivated to change your world.

I believe people are more likely to fail in business if they create new goals but they take action them in the same way that they got here in the first place.

There are two different type of people, the 1st group see a problem like a wall but its so small they can step over it, work out a solution and move on. The 2nd group of people will shriek and moan and be totally distraught because they see this wall as large as the Great Wall of China. Who do you think the successful person is?
It's the 1st group of people that are willing to approach their challenges in a different way and like most people they acknowledged that they needed to change and was conscious and work towards building the right mindset for themselves.

Why would anyone want to hear about Jonathan's story where some parts of his past sound like an episode of Miami Vice?

A serious entrepreneur has one thing that is very unique and exclusive to them that no one else in the world has.

The basis for any entrepreneur's personal brand is their story. Story telling is important because it is the beginning of building an emotional relationship to the person that is listening. It helps them relate to the person that is telling the story. Its important that the part of your story is always relevant to the situation, is captivating and interesting.

Its natural to fear failure and your mind is very good at reminding you very quickly how painful failure is. Any horse rider will tell you its important if you fall off the horse to get back on straight away.
A lot of successful entrepreneurs have hit rock bottom even bankruptcy and through perseverance and sheer determination have become successful.
This type of success was achieved by not taking their failure personally affecting new business decisions.

Once you create a formula in your business that works successfully for you, capture the process so you can share with others. By being a great coach you can create a consistency within your business in all aspects and help provide that direction needed for your business to meet its goals.

Also new people in your team gain momentum quicker because you're assisting them by taking out the guess work.

There are two factors that Jordan believes contributes to earning $50 million a year;
1. The ability to coach people.
2. Found a niche that was undiscovered.

How useful is old software?

That's right, not useful at all.

When software is replaced with a new version, the old is quickly forgotten.

You need to have the same approach with your negative thought patterns.

What old software is holding you back from accomplishing what you have always wanted?

Your emotions will guard your limiting beliefs, if you notice yourself react negatively to something new i.e. frustrated, angry, anxious you know that its old software running on autopilot. This exercise is not to make you feel guilty or disappointed but to make you more aware so you can know where the areas you need improvement and be conscious to create the change you need.

The majority of us grow up being taught we need a good education, a good paying job and save our money. This old set of belief clashes with the desire to become an entrepreneur to the core.

Wanting to become an entrepreneur means you need to;

Acquire knowledge about business, marketing, personal development etc but it's not mandatory to begin with a higher education.

Be in control of where you work and for how long on a daily basis.

Take calculated risks to expand your business.

This can cause friction between friends and family because you are acknowledging that you're deciding to leave their way of thinking for another unknown way. If their not an entrepreneur themselves they may not understand and deem you greedy for wanting something different than what you have.

'Ahhh, I don't know where to start!!'

Its very easy for a new entrepreneur to get overwhelmed with all the tasks they have to do to get their business started i.e. set up the business structure, create website etc

Instead of being the cute little puppy determined to chase its own tail you need to spend time creating your business plan.
This way you have your goals set for any given time and then you can break them down in a backwards motion to work out what you need to do every day. This will ensure you are always working towards your plan or strategy instead of doing things by accident and wasting time on things that are not going to help you move your business forward.
