A Regency Wedding Gown
This will be a group of lenses that will help you plan, setup and create a Regency style wedding for you or someone you love. You might even be a wedding planner who needs a few tips to help you understand what Regency style weddings were really like. This lens is dedicated to the wedding gown.Wedding gowns back then were different than they are today. A lady might not have bought a new dress or even have one made. She might have worn her best frock. These dresses might not have been white, but they would have been fancy and a lighter color gown. Dark dresses were considered as lower class. Poorer women wore darker dresses, because it would not have shown the dirt that would have built up as they labored, like light dresses would have. The Dresses could have been patterned dresses. The richer the person the more adornments would have been on the dress, gold trim or beading.

Petticoats
Petticoats make the skirt of the dress a lot fuller and is a good alternative for for a woman who wants a Jane Austen wedding and who's family and friends expect more of a ball gown.
This dress is lovely and has a nice transparent material over the petticoats, it has a bit of a small train and is great for almost any type of wedding. The dress sparkles just a little and will catch the light as she dances with her groom.

The Plain Dress
Many women with skin problems cannot wear unnatural fibers and materials. Things like satin, nylon and polyester do not breath as well as cotton, this dress is made out of cotton and would not affect their skin in the same way. A cotton dress like this is great for summer and spring weddings. This homemade dress is merely the first step to creating a more refined look. A satin ribbon would be tided under the breast at the seam. It can be tide at the front or with a bow in the back, a pretty pin can be worn in the middle of the ribbon.
White gloves would be worn as well, cotton if during the summer. A lace shall or fancy shrug can also be added, turning this simply homemade cotton dress into something lovely. A long gold chain paired with a locket or a cross could also be added. A single strand of pearls could be worn with the chain or by itself. Dangle beaded earrings were all the rage in Jane Austen's England. If you are being married on a summer or spring day a white lace parasol can look beautiful and does the job of shielding you from the harsh sun. A fancy lace fan can also be added.

Shiny Wedding
Metallic material can add a fancy fun flair to your wedding day. This thicker material should only be used during a fall or winter wedding. This kind of gown can keep you worm and can be paired with a cloak for an authentic romantic look. Long white leather gloves can look chic and keep your hands from getting chapped.

Fancy

fancy
Simple
emmakeynes says:
Both really, but the simpler ones are sometimes prettier.
KarateKatGraphics says:
mine was a late-1930s wedding gown & pretty simple, very covered up! but still pretty. so I guess I fall on the "simple" side -- although I did have a long, fairly detailed vintage veil with it, so that part was kind of fancy :)
d-artist says:
I'm for simplicity and classiness...and I'm not fond of showing much skin in church, you can always wear something classy on top of the dress and take it off at the reception JMO
goo2eyes says:
i say simple as can be.
RetroMom says:
Mix for me. That way i get the best of two worlds!

- Whilst these dresses are simple, they are beautifully elegant, which is often the way - "less is more". I love this era and think the gowns are very stylish and would be lovely to be married in. Blessings.

- Very nice and interesting lens...I mentioned in my lens "Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church Berlin" about my grandmothers Pearled French Lace wedding dress made into my sister and mine Baptism dresses. I'm glad at least I have a photo of them.
