A Review of the Acer Aspire One Netbook

Ranked #19,258 in Computers & Electronics, #381,417 overall

If You're Looking For a Great Netbook, the Acer Aspire One is a Winner!

There are now several newer models on the market, but I still really enjoy my netbook. I used it without any major repairs being necessary for more than two years, and I was not at all easy on this piece of equipment. It took the physical damage of flying off the roof of my car and still worked except for a loosened monitor cable which caused the screen to flicker in and out. I've gotten as new laptop but still user the Acer net book I wrote about here. I decided to leave the information up for anyone looking at this version of the Acer.

I don't do product reviews, generally. Cool stuff sells itself, and I'm not much for the world of corporate sales. I'm more your creative-hippie-artist-wandering-minstrel type, than someone you expect to see in a store telling you to buy this product or that one. The only time I recommend something is if I think it's really cool.

The Acer Aspire One Netbook is really cool. It's what I do most of my writing on. If you're trying to pick the best netbook for the best price, I think the Acer aspire one with the largest screen and keys available is the way to go.

This lens will show you a little more about what I like about my netbook.

Five Things I love About My Netbook :-)

  1. This netbook is extremely light weight, and designed to be easily portable.
  2. It fits in my purse, my backpack, or even zipped up in my leather organizer.
  3. It's fast. Faster than my last desktop, which was pretty nice and about three times more expensive.
  4. It's much more durable than I would expect from a compact and delicate piece of electronic equipment. I write a lot, and type so hard that my best friend actually put a seismograph on his phone to show me that I was making my poor computer think there was an earthquake! Seriously, If I can't kill this computer, it was designed with love!
  5. It functions great to do everything I need to online, and has beautiful video and audio quality.

Technical Details

Note that the product specs here refer to the Acer Model that I think is the best value. There are several versions with smaller screens, or less space on the hard drive amd less battery life, and all of them cost about the same. That's a little strange, because you'd be paying about the same amount for the version with about 160 gigs vs 250 gigs- so pay attention to which model you're ordering if you decide to buy one.
