Wow, this challenge turned out to be pieces of superb art. What I liked most about it is the story behind it. Beautifully done and presented. I liked video too! :)

I've never seen many of the filters you added to those photographs. Very creative.

    Thanks!

A lot of them are just overlaid photos with the contrast bumped up :)

Stunning set of photographs. Something I would expect to see in the Tate Modern in London. You're talented with the camera, photoshop and creating moods. Reminds me of my Art College days. ;-)

It's brilliant, so imaginative and original with each self-portrait saying something different. Blessed by an Angel.

I agree with Kathy - this deserves a LOTD award. I can also see this idea becoming one of those coffee table art books, or a project idea for an arts teacher to use in a digital imaging class. I am fascinated by not only the idea, but by the execution of the idea - and I especially liked that you included that moment in time where you were not enjoying it, but kept it up in order to complete what you'd started. Thumbs up!

Wow! Thank you so much :D

Yes - the wall of pain - it seems to happen with a lot of activities - like writing - you just have to keep working through the miserable slump!

I love this portrait lens! Especially the Ephemeral and the Garden one before that. Phenomenal! Might inspire me to use Photoshop!

Dang.....I was enthralled with this...read every word and studied a few of your self-portraits. You have a couple on here that Wow'd me to the point I went to another tab and nominated this for a LOTD. Rachel I knew you were talented, but your creativity here astounds me! I want that picture with the barbed wire....are you going to sell it anywhere? Great job ....and I just went and turned my other computer on to see how you did some of these :)

Wow! Thanks Kathy :D What a lovely comment!

They're mainly lots of images layered up in Photoshop :)

I Love your self portraits! There are many that I think are really great! I enjoyed reading every bit of your commentary. You need to put them together in some way that you could use them for a gallery show.

Okay this is a totally brilliant idea. I love how you've played with the various ways of presenting yourself.

A dear artist friend of mine did a portrait a day while recovering from breast cancer. She passed away a year or so later and her work is now an exhibition at the museum in the city where she lived. While she did not create the portraits for this purpose, they really told a story.

I guess what I'm saying is you may be surprised how much of you is actually captured in these imaginative works you are creating. Really excellent Rachael!

Thanks so much :D I'd love to see some other people do it too!

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend - what a great tribute though.
