Does Santa deliver presents to the Beach?
Of course he does. Even without all the snow a Tropical Christmas is just as beautiful. It may take some getting use to if you are from up north, but many only know about a Christmas celebration in the sun and sand.

My Christmas Holidays in Florida
When my husband and I lived in Florida - the holidays were really weird for us especially our first year there. Being native New Yorkers we only knew cold winters and white Christmas' so we had a real shock. We laughed at the fact that we were putting up our tree in shorts with the air conditioner on.
For us it never felt like the holidays even with our tree shining and all of our special ornaments upon it. I think we were just to use to growing up with the cold knowing the holidays were near when you put on those heavy jackets.
The one thing I can remember is driving around the neighborhoods and seeing how beautiful all those palm trees looked dressed up in colored lights. I loved that. I also loved all the fun decorations like the Pink Flamingos dressed up in costumes and Santa in shorts - it made the the Tropical Christmas fun and very different. Santa seems so relaxed in the sun - well who wouldn't.
So even though a Tropical Christmas was not my thing, it is for many others and for some all they know. We ended up moving back up north once I had my son so he can grow up with the season changes as we did as children. I still curse the winters and the snow, but for me - having my Christmas Tree up and seeing the snow fall is what makes me feel the holiday spirit.
So I decided to make this page and feature some of the fun Tropical Christmas Decorations that made me smile while I was there. And of course bought for my own tree so every year I take them out and put them up I think of all those Tropical Christmas' we had as I watch the snow fall outside my window.

- fun lens...I've never been in the tropic at Christmas, but a couple of years ago we were in Florida in late November when they had the shopping areas decorated for Christmas. I will say it was strange looking seeing the palms decorated with Christmas lights. Very festive looking..but strange to the midwestern eye.
