A Visitor's Guide To Alberta

Ranked #41,266 in Travel & Places, #1,016,237 overall

I must admit, remembering some of our family vacations brings back some pretty bad memories. Long hours in the car or plane both going and coming home were not fun at all. Being older and wiser, I now realize that if we had just not traveled so far, we could have had the same great time without all the problems. Traveling to Canada can produce a vacation with little or no travel related problems although you will need a passport if you plan to fly. You see, USA passport application forms are available online, and one should be completed for you and everyone else in your family.

Getting a passport used to be a scary process but new internet sites have made the application process trouble free. Perhaps you have a current passport but all the pages have been filled. And now, expedited United States passport pages can be ordered right from you home computer and before you know it, you will have all your travel documents in order and you will be on your way.

Sites To See

There are many beautiful provinces to visit in Canada and one of the most inviting is the province of Alberta. Located north of Montana, this beautiful territory is enriched by the Rocky Mountains, badlands and beautiful green space populated with wildflowers and wildlife. All of this and much more make Alberta quite irresistible.

Two of the most famous cities in Alberta are Calgary and Edmonton. These two large beautiful cities have everything city life anywhere could offer. Calgary was the site of the winter Olympics and in preparation for this event, every attraction and convenience any visitor could want was built. From fine dining to world class shopping to fabulous accommodations, Calgary has it all. Edmonton is Alberta's capital city and is called the 'Festival City' of Canada. Shopping, sidewalk cafes as well as first class restaurants are everywhere making your selection difficult but our enjoyment complete.

The Badlands of Alberta are home to the Midland Provincial Park. Known as a superb archeological dig, an abundant number of fossils populate this area which was once dedicated to coal mining. The Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology is also found here along with an array of fossils and old mine shafts. Hiking and water sports can be enjoyed as well as personal exploration.

The beautiful natural surroundings in Alberta provide an excellent reason to go on horseback. The Rocky Mountains provide the perfect setting for all sorts of activities, including beautiful scenic walks all the way to extreme sports like mountain climbing and white water rafting. Getting in touch with nature is almost automatic in Alberta, even in the large city areas. Castles, trails, meadows, and snow-topped mountains all make Alberta a natural splendor.

If you decide to Travel to Alberta, you may be very surprised at how much this Canadian province has to offer you. If you are going to drive, a passport card is all that is necessary but if flying, get your pass port application forms filled out because you won't want to delay. No matter your need, renewal or expedited American passport pages, they are easily available by logging on to one of the online passport sites so go to your computer and get started. The beauty of Alberta is waiting for you.
