Make An Informed Decision!

This will be the hardest lens I will ever have to write! I say have to because I believe the general public needs to know what goes on behind closed doors.

As I write this I am listening to my fifteen month old son playing in the other room, as tears roll down my face. How cruel has humanity really gotten! How very selfish and vain are we as living creatures!

If you are thinking of having an abortion please take the time to read this. If you are planning on voting for Obama this is a necessary read.

I would like to point out that the opinions in this lens are solely the opinions of the lensmaster (Jenysie Jane a.k.a. Alaina Ellington) and do not represent the opinions of Squidoo or their affiliates.

Roe V. Wade

Abortion was legalized in 1973, being called the Roe V. Wade decision.

In 1969 Norma McCorvey, ("Jane Roe") met with NARAL (National Association for the Repeal of Abortion Laws) lawyers Sarah Weddington and Linda Coffee because she was seeking an abortion, but prohibited by law.

Her case was argued in front of the U.S. Supreme Court and successfully granted women the option to seek abortion legally.

In 1973 Harry Blackmun ruled that a woman had the right to an abortion only in the first six months of pregnancy, (2 Tri-mesters) because of safety precautions.

In 2003 George W. Bush signed a bill banning partial-birth abortions! Serious restrictions have been placed on abortion services once again

Abortion Defined by Merriam-Webster's Medical Dictionary

1: The termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus: a; spontaneous expulsion of a human fetus during the first twelve weeks of gestation:b; induced expulsion of a human fetus
2: Arrest of development of an organ so that it remains imperfect or is absorbed
3: the arrest of a disease in its earliest stage.

Partial Birth Abortion

I will start with the absolute worse form of abortion out there.

This is murder, by any standards ... Legalized murder!

Partial-birth abortion simply means "partially vaginally delivering a living fetus before killing the fetus and completing delivery." This mostly defines all abortion procedures performed after the first three months of pregnancy!

Here is the "procedure":
This takes place anywhere in the 3rd tri-mester (9 months along!)
The abortionist turns the baby inside the womb so that the feet are facing out and the head is facing down.

The baby's body is then delivered, all except the head which is left in the womb, so the baby is not able to take her first breath of air.

The abortionist then inserts a pair of scissors into the back of baby's skull to create an opening.

The scissors are then opened to create a bigger opening so that a suction catheter (essentially a vaccum) can be inserted into baby's skull.

After the catheter is inserted into baby's skull, baby's brains are then sucked out killing baby.

Notes
Baby is alive and can feel all of this happening up until the very end!
This method is used thousands of times during a period of one year!

My Opinion
How could anyone do this to their child? Their child is ready to be born, that means that you have already went through basically your full pregnancy and then you kill the child that has lived inside you for 6-9 months. My question is "How can you live with yourself?"

That is absolutely the sickest thing you could ever possibly do! How could anyone be okay with allowing this small life be killed, murdered in fact, in such a way!

Another question I have is what doctor is willing to do such a thing? How much money does it really take for you to sell your soul to the devil himself!

Abortion -This is a Suction Abortion

What Wikipedia Has To Say

An abortion is the termination of a pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus/embryo, resulting in or caused by its death. An abortion can occur spontaneously due to complications during pregnancy or can be induced, in humans and other species. In the context of human pregnancies, an abortion induced to preserve the health of the gravida (pregnant female) is termed a therapeutic abortion, while an abortion induced for any other reason is termed an elective abortion. The term abortion most commonly refers to the induced abortion of a human pregnancy, while spontaneous abortions are usually termed miscarriages.

Abortion has a long history and has been induced by various methods including herbal abortifacients, the use of sharpened tools, physical trauma and other traditional methods. Contemporary medicine utilizes medications and surgical procedures to induce abortion. The legality, prevalence, and cultural views on abortion vary substantially around the world. In many parts of the world there is prominent and divisive public controversy over the ethical and legal issues of abortion. Abortion and abortion-related issues feature prominently in the national politics in many nations often involving the opposing pro-life and pro-choice worldwide social movements. The approximate number of abortions performed worldwide in 2003 was 42 million, which declined from nearly 46 million in 1995.

First Tri-Mester Abortions

Menstrual Extraction
A very early suction abortion done before a pregnancy test ever shows positive.

Dialation and Curettage (D&C)
The doctor inserts a loop shaped steel knife into the womb then cuts the baby into peices and scrapes the baby and placenta out.

Suction-Aspiration
The doctor inserts a hollow plastic tube with a sharp knife edge into the uterus.

The suction from the tube tears the baby into peices.

He then cuts the placenta out.

Second Tri-Mester Abortions

Intracardiac Injection
Around 4-5 months a needle is inserted into mother's abdomen which then is inserted into baby, releasing a poison which kills baby.

Abortion Facts

Let's look at the Numbers

Women, age 24 and younger, from the United States, account for 52% of abortions performed each year.

That number is further broken down into:
19% Teenagers
33% Women age 20-24

60% of all abortions are obtained by women who have already given birth to at least one child.

2/3rds of all abortions occur in single women (never before married)

Reasons Women Kill Their Children

74% Say "Having a baby would dramatically Change my life!"
I say to that: "You selfish idiot! That's why there is the option for adoption!"

73% say "I can't afford a baby right now!"
I say: "Grow UP!!!"

48% were having relationship problems or were scared of becoming single mothers
I say: ADOPTION IS ALWAYS AN OPTION!

ABORTION IS PERMANENT! IT'S A DECISION YOU HAVE TO LIVE WITH THE REST OF YOUR LIFE AND ANSWER TO WHEN YOU DIE! DON'T TAKE THIS DECISION LIGHTLY! IT'S ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT DESICIONS YOU'LL EVER MAKE! IT'S LIFE OR DEATH!

My Opinion

If you are getting ready to commit murder consider adoption first! You can find a family who is unable to have kids and desperately wants a baby before you even give birth, which means once your child is born you don't even have to see him/her.

A baby's heart begins beating as soon as 1 month into the pregnancy, that means your child is alive!

Life begins at conception! Who are you to take that away!

Who Should Make The Final Decision?

In a perfect world everyone would want their children, everyone would love their children, and care for their children, not kill them painfully!

But we don't live in a perfect world do we?

Do you think that abortion should be completely banned?

Loading Fetching blurbs now... please stand by

Yes I think killing innocent children should be completely illegal!

ThisOneHere says:

Absolutely!

"Mud" says:

As a Christian I am opposed to abortion ~ there are too many childless people in this world waiting and hoping to be able to adopt. I marvel at the hypocrisy people engage in when discussing a "wanted" pregnancy, (it is a baby immediately) but when discussing abortions it is a blob of tissue. It boggles the mind....

Nope I think it should be up the mother it's her body she should have the final say!

susannaduffy says:

A termination is flushing a zygote. You are talking about something else entirely.

dannystaple says:

Things like the D & X (probably the saddest form of abortion) are only used generally when something has gone so wrong that the mother is at a serious risk of permanent injury or disability. In this case, when it is this extreme, I think that it should be permitted. With better healthcare in the US, fewer of those should be required. They are rarely if ever required in the UK, however US delivery room doctors have been known to carry them out for complications easily handled in the UK - perhaps a decent nationalised health service in the US would improve this situation.
Other than the health aspect, for those who do so for social or economic reasons, I think the original mistake was having unprotected intercourse in the first place - which better education on the use of contraceptives, and thinking before giving out, should prevent to some degree - although teenagers always do stupid things and there will always be a percentage.
Counselling and help should be given to very young mothers, to ensure that they are given every chance of being able to raise a child normally, including the healthcare and support they need. It should definitely be illegal for parents to pressure a minor into an unwanted abortion.
This issue is not as black and white as pro-life or pro-choice - it is an issue far too sensitive and complex to try to simplify it ad absurdium like that. There should be compassion for a child, including the sadness of terminating a pregnancy, and the sadness of a child growing up with only part of a family or in abject poverty. There should be compassion for a mother - serious illness, injury or disability is not an option anyone would want to face, they also may not want to bring up a child in the abject poverty and misery they see as their future - only with compassion and help can that not turn into a termination.
And finally, it should not be illegal - it should be heavily discouraged (NO NOT STIGMATISED!) and every possible measure should be taken to avoid it, but if somebody sees no other choice, and has to take this bleak option, then let them do it safely and legally - driving it underground will lead to dangerous back-street abortions.

mangueken says:

The one question that the pro life movement doesn't take up is the high percentage of naturally occurring abortions. Instead of wasting resources on people's personal choices why not put it to use to help the women who want to conceive up their chances? As far as the appeals to religious beliefs goes, that's fine for the individual that shares those beliefs but our country doesn't permit the state to allow one person's religious views to be forced on others. I, as an atheist, don't see any moral dilemma with abortion. It is a personal choice and trying to get it legislated to favor a religious view is simply unconstitutional.

mdvaldosta says:

Ultimately it's up to the mother, or the state she lives in as to the legality of it. While I feel abortion is wrong, I do belive the mother has the right to choice. So you see, it's not cut and dry. It's one thing to have an opinion, it's another to force it onto someone else by way of laws. It's a touchy subject.

This is a well-thought-out and frankly gutsy lens. Thanks for being brave enough to post. One thing you might like to research and add to your lens: the birth control pill prevents pregnancy by preventing ovulation ... MOST of the time. When that function fails, it works as an abortifacient, preventing the fertilized egg from implanting. 5***** and keep up the good work.
