HERE'S WHAT I THINK

Abortion should stay legalized. Let me start off by saying that I in no way support abortion and I have never been able to come up with a scenario that would justify having one. That is my choice. But yes, I think it should stay legal so that others are free to make their own choices. I feel that if a government has the right to tell us as women that we are not allowed to do whatever we choose with our own bodies, that we don't live in a free country. It is a women's choice and her choice alone.

Abortion should be illegal regardless of any circumstances, think about it, that child could have been a best friend, a famous football player, a scientist who would have came up with the cure to cancer, your - could have been wife,etc. And for all of you who think that a girl being pregnant is something to be ashamed of, it's not, it may be difficult to accept, but face it, no matter if that baby was a result of a rape, a mother's love to her child is unconditionable.Trust me, that girl who continues her pregnancy will not regret it in the end,that baby will be the best thing that ever happened to her. As you watch television, you see commercials of poor animals in animal shelters that are abandoned, society seems to care much more for a dog then they do of a human baby. So before you consider an abortion, use your logics, an abortion brings a lot of regret and depression later on, so don't do it, because you wouldn't be here if your mother hadn't aborted you, think about it.

It's not about women or their bodies, it's about the unborn child. It's not the babies fault the mom got pregnant when she didn't intend to. Whether it be the result of a one night stand or a serious rape it's still a child and should be treated as such.

I believe that the "Choice" was made prior to conception. The choice is whether or not to have sex ... not whether or not to kill the baby that results from that choice. She chose what to do with her body when she chose to have sex. How can a moral wrong become a civil right just because man passes a pathetic law to ease his conscience??? Life and rights for the baby begin at the moment of conception. Life is sacred.

Choosing abortion or not choosing it is a choice. Taking away the choice to have an abortion is taking away our God given rights such as Freedom of CHOICE. As well as the pursue of happiness. They say we can choose Pro Life or Pro Choice. If you choose Pro Life GOOD FOR YOU! but i think that CHOOSING Pro Life is an act of a hypocrite... that is like saying the choice to keep abortion legal is wrong in all cases. BUT since you have chosen the "right" thing (pro life) you are saying having the choice of abortion is wrong. Why would you say... you have the choice of choosing between Pro Life or Pro Choice but you cant choose legal abortion

It is a womens choice and her body. Some women are not ready to take on that huge responsibility, why should they have to be forced? In teenagers cases, some are not ready to be parents and give up sports and there teenage life. When in reality it was there boyfriends fault for not wanting to use protection! I say this because it has happened to me. I had an abortion. Yes i feel guilty, yes it always crosses my mind how my life would have been. I had to do it though. I wasn't ready. Don't look at what we have done, but know why we do it.

I am supportive of it. For one thing. Really, how can you tell someone to not have a baby that they don't want. If they don't want it then they clearly won't do their best to take care of them. Possibly abuse them to an extreme. And then that goes into another discussion. Another point is, it's their life. If they want to get rid of a kid they don't want then, well that's them. Would you come and take care of the kid? And it's not like we don't have enough kids anyways. Murder happens everyday and we're not going about doing rallys. Why? Because we can't stop it. All I saw really on the matter is, it's their choice. Not yours.

All the people who think that abortion is murder and adoption is a great option should go out and adopt a child who is in the system, so that women would feel more willing to give the child up for adoption. MANY children are abused while in the system and NEVER become adopted. Also, many women have abortions because they don't feel that they would be able to afford to have children, so if you think that a woman should keep her child, then you need to help pay for it! If you are pro-life then you need to help women so that they will feel more comfortable with keeping their children and not aborting. That would be like forcing someone to build a house but not giving them the tools and materials to do so. Just because YOUR religion preaches that abortion is wrong doesn't mean that everyone else is going to follow it, many woman don't believe in a god at all. You can't persuade a woman who lives by science to not have an abortion with "morals", you have to do so with scientific evidence that it would be wrong. So if you're so against abortion then you should help woman who already know that it is wrong feel like they're going to be able to keep their child by offering financial and emotional support, and you need to research scientific facts to prove that it is wrong for woman who don't believe that is wrong.

I think that it's sick that people are saying, "If a teenaged girl/ woman is raped, she needs to keep the baby." You have NO RIGHT to tell a girl/woman, who went through a traumatizing event, to keep something that is a constant reminder of that event. Everyone is entitled to decide what to do with their health! We don't need a bunch of bible thumpers to tell us what to do with our bodies! When will there be a REAL separation of church and state???
