A Glance Back helps me Focus on Now and Plan for the Future
I was born - 1940 (picture of me to the left) One small step after another my life was training me to become a Grandmother for the 21st century.
My identity changed in 1982 with the birth of my first grandson. In that moment, I became "GramaBarb." And, I've never looked back! Drawing upon both my childhood bond with my grandmothers and the supportive, loving grandmother relationship my own mother had with my sons, it felt easy to melt into my new role as grandmother. My first grandson quickly became my whole life, equaled only by the later additions of another grandson and two granddaughters a few years down the road.
Love Kept Us Together! "Young Love" was our song.

This quality product is 8 x 10 in size. It is double matted. Verse is......
"For My Mom"......
From the very beginning,......
you have been there for me.........
encouraging me, listening to my troubles,......
and cheering me on along the way.......
You were the rock......
that anchored me to solid ground,......
the wind that helped......
to guide my course,......
the safe harbor where I took refuge.......
You believed in me......
when I was unsure of myself.......
You gave me the courage to keep trying,......
and the wisdom to look......
towards the future.......
You were everything a Mother......
should be.......
So, for all you are,......
and all the sacrifices you've made......
throughout the years.........
"Thank-You, Mom."......
I'm so grateful,......
and I will always love you!......

"Grandmother" Touching 8x10 Framed Poem
For all Grandmothers - we Thank You!
"Grandmother" Touching 8x10 Framed Poem, Double-matted In Dark Green/Burgundy And Enhanced With Watercolor Graphics.
Amazon Price: $29.95 (as of 12/15/2009)![]()
The Verse is ....
"Grandmother" ......
From the very first moment you smiled upon me,......
You gave all that you had...unconditionally.......
You taught me of kindness, and patience and love,......
And we formed a closeness God blessed from above.......
Then the seasons passed quickly, and as I grew,......
Each year just increased my devotion to you.......
And I learned among other things, from your caress,......
That the world is much sweeter with tenderness....... That every young heart should have someone like you,......
Who helps them believe dreams can really come true.......
Someone who always remains by their side,......
Whose faith in them fosters a strong sense of pride.......
One sweet, special someone-"Grandmother" by name,...... Whose love helps ignite a perpetual flame,......
That adds warmth and beauty in so many ways,......
A light that will guide me through all of my days.......
