The Pink Ribbon Lensography - Breast Cancer Lenses

Ranked #2,477 in Health, #40,882 overall

Why I Created This Lens

I've been thinking about doing a cause/charity-themed lens for a while, but couldn't figure out what charity or what lens format. I was creating another lens and looking for some products to put on it when I saw some breast cancer awareness merchandise. That made me wonder if there were any main breast cancer lenses on Squidoo. What I found was all of the following lenses, each of which are set up differently and present different content. Considering it might be a pain for someone to try to do a search on all the relevant breast cancer lenses and favorite or bookmark all of them as well, I wondered if there was a breast cancer lensography. When I saw that there wasn't, I decided to create one myself. It took a while to create, but I think & hope this will be a good source for all those who have breast cancer or know someone who does. If you're looking for something specific, click on a topic in the Table of Contents below. (NOTE: All proceeds from this lens go to the Squidoo Charity Fund.)

Most people think of breast cancer as a single disease that affects women, and that it only occurs inside of the breast. The following lenses disprove all of that.

Breast Cancer Stories- From the Patient's Point of View

NOTE: Barebones (aka Karyll), the author of the "Pink Rage" lens, passed away sometime ago due to complications from chemotherapy. Still feel free to leave your sympathies and/or condolences on her lens, as her family seems to check it from time to time. She is yet another reminder of why breast cancer awareness, education and research are so important.

Thanks so much for this great lensography -it is really helpful. The diagnosis of breast cancer is so overwhelming that it is good to get little bits of solid information here and there - especially from people who have been there. Squidoo is good for that. Thanks for featuring my two lens on this as well - http://www.squidoo.com/Livingwithbreastcancer which is my personal story, and
http://www.squidoo.com/thebreastcancersite - which talks about a site where you can give for free to help other women afford mammograms just by clicking. I don't like writing about breast cancer, there are so many other cool parts of my life - but the better my treatment of this disease and the side effects of the treatments themselves goes the more quality and quantity of life I will have. Thumbs up, favorited and lensrolled. PS - Good luck on the job search - it just takes one. :) The fact that you are keeping yourself busy productively will do you well in the long run, and also adds value to others lives.
