Hemorrhoids
Hemorrhoids, or piles, is a common ailment in today's Western society. It is a varicose and often inflamed condition of the veins inside or just outside the rectum. In external piles, there is a lot of pain but not much bleeding. With internal piles, there is discharge of bright red blood; sometimes the veins burst and this results in what is known as bleeding piles.

Hemorrhoid Symptoms
Hemorrhoids are usually not dangerous or life threatening. In most cases, hemorrhoidal symptoms will go away within a few days. Pain at passing stools, slight bleeding in the case of internal trouble, and soreness and irritation after passing a stool are the usual symptoms of piles. For the hemorrhoid sufferer, sitting is an unpleasant experience due to itching, discomfort and pain in the rectal region.
Excessive straining, rubbing, or cleaning around the anus may cause irritation with bleeding and/or itching. This can produce a vicious cycle of symptoms.

Natural Treatment For Hemorrhoids
Treating the basic cause, chronic constipation, is the best way to fix the problem. It is important to drink at least six to eight glasses of water a day and to avoid straining to pass a stool. Pinching your nose and trying to blow through it seems to be helpful in passing stubborn stools. Cold water treatment to the affected area is beneficial. Exercise plays an important corrective role for hemorrhoids. Movements that exercise the abdominal muscles will improve circulation in the rectal region and relieve congestion. Outdoor activities such as walking and swimming are excellent methods of building up general health.
