Mascara Is Your Friend
Mascara is the creamy makeup that we put on our eyelashes to make them look thick and long!!!!
Mascara comes in many types and many colors, too!
Everyone has a preference, when it comes to mascara.
Some like a certain brand because it makes their lashes thicker, some like the ones that make the lashes longer... some like mascara that makes the lashes curl up... or separate.. mascara is such a personal thing!

Gimme Those BIG BLACK LASHES!!!!!
Why Mascara?
Who Cares About Big Lashes????
Well... I do, along with millions of other women, and a number of men, as well.
The fact is... mascara makes our eyes look bigger, deeper, and more attractive.
We like looking attractive.
Looking attractive is one way that we keep the human race going, isn't it?
So, mascara isn't going anywhere in the near or far future.
In fact, each year, literally hundreds of news kinds and brands of mascara come onto the market.
Obviously, this makes things very confusing, indeed!
Which mascara is the best?
Which mascara makes the lashes longest... thickest.... lushest.... healthiest.... ?
Click on the image to buy the mascara in the picture. (Note: The model is wearing false eyelashes with the mascara added over them in the photo - an even greater way to get even lusher lashes!!!)...

How To Put On Mascara
If there are a million women in the world, there are a million ways to put on mascara.
There is really no one absolutely only or correct way of using mascara.
The fact is that practically every single woman has her own way to do it.
There are some useful techniques that some people have come up with, though, that may help you get started.
Handy "how to put on mascara" tips to give you some starting pointers, or new ideas on how to get your lashes even longer, lusher, thicker....
Since everyone is different.. you may prefer your lashes more or less "natural" or more or less "doll-like"....
But, whatever way you prefer them, it doesn't matter, because it is according to your own individual taste.
Also, some days you may prefer to be more dressed down, and some days more dressed up.
It's all good!
Remember, too, even if you like to wear false eyelashes, you are still going to need to put mascara on top of them to help blend them into your own lashes.

Are Dark Sultry Eyes Better???
The History of Mascara
Mascara and eye darkening and enhancing cosmetics have been around for ages.
In fact, there are records from as far back (and further) that show such cosmetics being used from between 10,000 and 4000 BC and more in Ancient Egypt and other places, too.
In Victorian Europe people would make their own versions of what later became mascara by mixing concoctions of various natural and not-so-natural things.
The idea is that having dark eyelashes was the thing to do, and women around the world have wanted the darkest, longest eyelashes throughout history!
The modern mascara that we have today, though, was developed in a laboratory using petroleum jelly as a base.
In the late 19th century there was a chemist named Rimmel who was responsible for this... and we have probably all heard of Rimmel cosmetics, haven't we?
In 1917 the first packaged mascara was sold by Rimmel.
It was a "cake" type of mascara...
There are still cake mascaras and eye and brow liners sold right up to today!
In fact, mascara was actually called "rimmel" for the longest time throughout Europe and the Middle East.
At the same time, in the USA, T.L. Williams came along and developed what would later become Maybelline (named after his sister, Maybel) and a product that was also made with petroleum jelly and also close to a modern mascara.
Years later, Helena Rubinstein improved on this and made an even better version of a cake type of mascara....
But these developments weren't without problems (read the Wikipedia story below for more on this)...
And then, Proctor and Gamble developed the first mascara wand with a brush like end.. with Max Factor marketing the first mascara using this type of application.
And here we are!!!
Check out my Kohl lens about the ancient and original "mascara" ...

My Absolute FAVORITE Mascara Of All Time
Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme
I have tried tons of different types of mascara over the years, and no matter what anyone says... the Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme mascara is without a doubt my favorite mascara of all time!
It thickens and lengthens without looking crappy.
It is so extreme that it looks like you're wearing false lashes... but you're not!
Plus, I love this because it is super long lasting (and I never take off my makeup.. it either washes off by itself, or it doesn't and I keep on adding to it)... (Yes, I know many people are completely against this.. but this is what works for me)...

The Difference Between Waterproof and Regular Mascara
Everyone seems to have a strong preference when it comes to waterproof or regular mascara.
Obviously the formulas that make up these two different types of mascara are different.
Some people claim that waterproof mascara is dangerous...
I don't know how dangerous it is, but it is certainly more difficult to remove.
If you are going to wearing your mascara while swimming, then you are probably going to want to wear waterproof mascara, unless you like looking like a raccoon.
You do have to be very careful when removing it, though, because many people complain that waterproof mascara makes your lashes fall.
But, for all other purposes, most people seem to prefer regular mascara.
And regular mascara is certainly far easier to get off!!!
