Paypal - a company owned by eBay that is becoming The Online Currency
Ranked #9,804 in Business & Work, #237,247 overall
I've been using Paypal since the days of PaypalDamon...
Long time users of Paypal who have frequented the OAI message boards will remember Damon was one of the customer service representatives of Paypal who surfed the web, helping to answer questions and escalate problems. It hasn't been quite the same without Damon, but there are reps like Amanda and Eric trying to fill his shoes on the Paypal Discussion Board.
Paypal started as an independent payment service, and was acquired by eBay after it dominated the eBay marketplace even over eBay's Billpoint service, which had all the advantages in the world. If you can't beat 'em, buy 'em.
If you want to learn more about the early days of Paypal, read "The Paypal Wars" book for the story from the perspective of an insider.
Four reasons why I choose to use Paypal
2) It offers a shopping cart product that is very easy to implement in a website (either by activating it within the shopping cart software you use, or copy/pasting buttons onto a webpage in HTML).
3) It's available as a payment option at almost all of the sites that I list items at, this allows me to consolidate my incoming payments in one place. It's integrated in their checkout flows more often than not. One of the options I use is a Prostore, if you'd like to check them out, you can click on the logo below.
4) You are able to attach multiple email addresses and multiple bank accounts to the same account, giving it more flexibility, and the ability to withdraw your funds to multiple accounts if you choose.
