About SayGudday.com

SayGudday.com is a network of people that write about the places they live in, offering tips, hints and help on where to go, what to see, where to eat, what to do and more. We understand that we can be more successful as a group than we could be as individuals so we work together to increase our collective readership through cross promotion. If you are passionate about travel and tour guide writing and want to join the SayGudday.com community, then read about the ideals we are dedicated to below.

Share Local Knowledge

Learn from the Locals

Local guides know everything

Be a local. No one knows a place like the locals do, and that is what sets our network of travel and tour guide writers apart. SayGudday.com writers live in the places that we want to visit. We want to hear about the tourist places for sure, but we also want knowledge that only the locals can give us, things like is there good public transportation or will I need to rent a car? What free fun things can I do in your area?

Encourage others to try new things

Get new experiences

Try new activities

Let's get more people bungee jumping! I know that's a sentiment that Lesley Carter of Bucket List Productions blog fame (http://www.squidoo.com/extreme-travel) would whole-heartedly support. Life is for living so let's help people move outside of their comfort zone and try the things they have always wanted to try but haven't. They might even share their stories with us on our blogs and pages which will widen our readership and attract new subscribers.

Help me try new things

How to try new things

Be a facilitator

Tell me what you know. Yes I want to read about your experiences, the sights, the sounds and the smells but I might also want to experience them for myself. Help me do that. Isn't that why you wrote about these experiences? To make me wish i was doing what you were doing? Well done! You've succeeded and now I want to do it but how? You motorcycled across China, that sounds incredibly cool. So cool, in fact, that it's going on my own bucket list. Now, tell me how you do it so I can do it too. Help me do something instead of just reading about someone else doing it. Then we can compare our experiences and re-live them all over again. Help others to live and experience life. In your lenses, blogs, web pages, etc. include things like:
- Google Maps / Bing Maps / Yahoo Maps
- Google Earth
- Useful resources like the contact details for the local tourism board (see lens Extreme-Travel)
- Definitely include costs! I can't plan a vacation without knowing how much it's going to cost.

Network and support each other

Collaborate with other tour and travel guides

Join forces

We are more than the sum of our parts so let's recognize that there is room for everyone's voice and opinion. If you have a guide about Disney cruises like Suzy-t does (http://www.squidoo.com/disney-cruise-insider-tips), understand that networking and directing readers to another Disney cruise page, Like EverythingMouse's (http://www.squidoo.com/cruisedisney), isn't taking anything away from you. Instead it's actually strengthening you because you are sharing your readers and consolidating a community instead of fragmenting it. A good example of this are the three lens masters all with separate Disney Cruise lenses who equally share their thought son the page http://www.squidoo.com/ten-best-disney-cruise-tips. Recognize that no one page can be all things to all people. Our community has niches and segments that need to hear and talk about different things in different ways. Let's make that happen for them. Collaborate and grow.

Interact with your readers

Communicate with your readers

Answer their questions

You've done a great job of getting people interested in what you are talking about and what you are saying, now what? Don't just pump out an article on your visit to London and post it. Encourage interaction so that your audience is inspired to follow in your footsteps and go do something. Be helpful to them and they will spread your message and grow your subscriber base.

    I live in existence and travel widely in thought;
    Realize that with fantastic things life is fraught.
    Stand fascinated, at this wonder that is wrought;
    Without exception, bestowed upon all, unsought.
    Though I wouldn't fit into the scheme, I'd still say ?
    You've got a great idea here no doubt; Gudday!

    Noticed the chatter on Facebook about your SayGudday blog. Very nicely presented.
    Perhaps my New River Beach, New Brunswick lens might appeal to your readership.
