As a screen printer you can either accept the challenges you will face or you can concede. In other words you can either sink or swim. The attitude here at TheTDesigner is that "we will not fail". The benefits you get from a good day of hard work are priceless.

Here are the 10 ten reasons that as the owner of Major League Imprints or better known on the web as TheTDesigner still enjoy going to work 12 years later.

My top 10 favorite things about screen printing

  1. Trying to figure out how we are going to take that hand drawn picture and reproduce it for screen printing on t-shirts.
  2. Sitting down and actually drawing graphics for a design on the computer.
  3. Seeing how creative I can be with an idea that people submit for a t-shirt design.
  4. Taking the films to a printer and watching them cringe when I tell them these have to be done in an hour.
  5. Then I get to say; I'm just kidding!
  6. Taking the challenge of setting up a job that I know is going to be a little bit tedious.
  7. Getting that final test print just right.
  8. Watching the shirts rolling out of the dryer for that job that nobody except myself thought could be done.
  9. Cleaning up after another day of challenges that where meet.
  10. You get to see the smile on peoples faces when they open the box and look at the first shirt they pull out of the box.

What Is Screen Printing?

Screen printing is a printing technique that uses a woven mesh to support an ink-blocking stencil. The attached stencil forms open areas of mesh that transfer ink as a sharp-edged image onto a substrate. A roller or squeegee is moved across the screen stencil, forcing or pumping ink past the threads of the woven mesh in the open areas.

Screen printing is also a stencil method of print making in which a design is imposed on a screen of silk or other fine mesh, with blank areas coated with an impermeable substance, and ink is forced through the mesh onto the printing surface. It is also known as silk screening or serigraphy.
