Dermatitis means: "inflammation of the skin". This is a common condition that appears on the skin and can be of various types like contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis or neurodermatitis. This condition is not contagious and it poses no threat to our lives, however patients need to learn how to deal with it and control to prevent it from interferring with our lives, the way we feel and the way we look.

Okay, dermatitis can be of various types, however we can extract symptoms of this condition. These are:- Redness
- Itchy Skin
- Swelling
- Skin Lesions
The Different Types of Dermatitis
- Contact dermatitis. A rash that appears when the skin comes in contact with an allergy-producing object or irritating surface.- Neurodermatitis. AThis is a chronic itchy skin condition with tendency to appear on specific areas of the body.
- Atopic dermatitis. Also known as eczema or atopic eczema. It is also chronic
- Seborrheic dermatitis. A common scalp problem. this type of dermatitis causes dandruff in patients.
- Perioral dermatitis. A type of dermatitis that appears on areas surrounding the mouth.
- Stasis dermatitis. This type appears on the legs as the result of water accumulation under the skin.
Diagnosis of dermatitis must be first determined by a doctor before following treatment.
