My Degree
Computing & IT with Mathematics
I am currently 26 years old and have been doing a degree with the Open University for 2 years so far. I work full time and so can only do a certain amount in my spare time. Which means I will probably be finished in about 4 years time (as of June 2011).I have done very well in the modules I have completed so far. which has encouraged me to keep going.
Please look at the link to my degree. I would really like to get into programming, so any comments on this would be much appreciated.
I have currently completed all my level 1 modules and have just finished MS221 my first level 2 module. I'm now half way through two level 2 modules, i;m getting there slowly.
If anyone would like more info on the OU I would be happy to answer any questions.

A Brief Descripton of the Open University
The OU
The Open University was set up in the sixties. It is the only University in the United Kingdom the specifically concetrates on distance learning. They have the same awarding powers as any other UK university, the only difference is that you can complete your course primarily by post, e-mail and internet. You also get more time to complete the course, so that you have time for a job.
Often there are lectures and tutorials that are held in community centers, colleges etc in your local area (although I think this only includes the UK). IMHO it's a good way to get a degree while still working full time.

Zazzle
Thought we'd give it a good go!
Me and my partner have recently started a zazzle store. I am doing my best with the time I have to promote and link. She is doing all the artwork as she has all the talent. So far we have had a "Today's Best Design Award" & have now finally had a sale. See below the item sold.
Any help and advise would be very much appreciated.
I have read a lot on the forum so am aware we need more products etc.
Recently Haze was asked to create a one off design based on the goggles, that you can see on her site. Links below. This was for a diving company in Florida. They were very happy with the outcome and will be having the design printed on T-Shirts for staff and to be sold as souvenirs. Wish we could get one a month.

We have now had many sales, although we are only getting paid once every few months, as it takes time to hit the minimum payout.
We have also had another TBA.

A McLaren fan through and through
However since meeting my girlfriend and deciding to buy a flat together I had to give up to obsession with cars. But to keep my speed habbit happy I got a liceince to ride a motorbike. My first bike was a gsxr600 which I still have as my only mode of transport. Winter is a lot of fun :-(
Through all this I have been watching every F1 qually & race, and as many free practice sessions that I can. As well as having gone to silverstone every year for the past 4 years.
I love the techinal aspects of the sport. There are very few other sports where a self confessed geek can feel at home. In F1 the vast majority of car speed and handling comes from the engineering. The drivers, while still the main stars, are not the only stars. For example the cheif desinger for the Red Bull team Adrian Newy is mentioned so often on the coverage that he has to be, IMHO, nearly as famous as the drivers.
There are few if any other sports where an engineer could be described as a star.
I am as mentioned a McLaren fan. Currently as British as a team is likely to get. The team is based in the UK with the team manager and group CEO both British. Not to mention that the two drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button are also British. This really makes them a great team to follow for an Englishman. They have a history in F1 second only to Ferrari with past drivers such as Mikka, Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost etc. All past world champions.
Really glad that the BBC have the current UK coverage of the sport. They are really second to none. With my favourite commentator Martin Brundle. Which if you have ever seen his grid walks, you could hardly disagree. They are amusing even if you don't follow the sport.
Just got back from Silvertsone GP 2011, lens with my review of the race now started.
In time I will be posting more info about McLaren history and their current progress and form. Below I have listed a few links to info on the sport. With the photo next to the text linking to the BBC sport F1 website.

World of Warcraft
The Part Time Warcrafter
I have been playing World of Warcraft for about 18 months now. I started around the same time as starting my degree, probably not a good idea.I have managed to limit my playtime so it doesn't often interfere with my other hobbies. Although if i was sensible i would spend slightly less time playing.
It is a fantastic outlet for stress, with my girlfriend now playing we enter battle arenas together and take out all our stress on the Horde. For the Allience!!!
I am going to try and make a few lenses on some guids for playing part time. I have found it hard to find info for part time players. There seems to be plenty for the real beginner or the full time expert but little in between.
More to come soon.
Razer Nostromo
Fantastic advantage in PVP or PVE
Razer Nostromo Gaming Keypad (RZ07-00490100-R3)
Amazon Price: $53.72 (as of 02/22/2012)![]()
This fantastic product from Razer will give you a massive advantage in PVP or PVE. With the thumpad for movement and 16 customizeable buttons plus clickable scroller.
As this pad allows movement with the thumpad I have found that it really frees up the use of your mouse. All the buttons are easily mapped to your in game functions or can have macros attached. The speed at which you can react while still using the mouse for targetting is excellent.

- I'm a F1 fan myself, but I have to confess I haven't watched much F1 since my driver Fisichella retired.

- I live in the U.S. and am wondering what the Open U is? Is it a gov't institution, all online, just a little interested, because a few years ago I learned that singer Joan Armatrading completed a degree a few years ago. She would study after performing at concerts. I am glad you a doing well.
