Abraham Lincoln Biography

He was the son of Thomas and  Nancy Hanks Lincoln, and he was named for his paternal grandfather.

February 12, 1809 : Lincoln was born in a log cabin in Hardin (now Larue) County, Kentucky.

April 14, 1865 : Ford Theater : At 10.13, he was shot in the back of his head by Southern fanatic John Wilkes Booth (Abraham Lincoln and his wife Mary were seeing the play "Our American Cousin").

April 15, 1865 : He died at 7.22 in the morning.

His body was taken by train from Washington to be buried in Springfield, Illinois.
 
November 4, 1842: He married Mary Todd. They have had 4 children: Robert Todd Lincoln, Edward Baker Lincoln; William Wallace Lincoln and Thomas "Tad" Lincoln
