Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Now this is a different kind of book. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is the latest novel by Seth Grahame-Smith and Wow it is so much fun. Okay, at a glance it seems a little gross to think that Abraham Lincoln could have been a Vampire Hunter. Many people would be turned off and angry at the thought of Lincoln being referred to is such a way. This is a mash-up book. And it is just an enjoyable book. If you enjoy history and Vampire books you will really like this.

This book starts out in 1818 when 9 year old Abe Lincoln loses his mother to something call "Milk-Sickness". But he later finds out that her death was caused by a Vampire.

So he writes in his journal "henceforth my life shall be one of rigorous study and devotion. I shall become a master of mind and body. And this mastery shall have but one purpose..."

His decided he will do what ever it takes to eliminate Vampires. Even if it his quest takes him all the way to the White House.

What is a Mash-Up?

A Mash-up is when a writer takes material of different sources and mixes them together in order to create a new structure or novel. In this case he takes a historical figure and facts about American History and Mixes it with the Fictional Vampires.

Another book by Seth Grahame-Smith is Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: The Classic Regency Romance - Now with Ultraviolent Zombie Mayhem!

It is an enjoyable read, yet a weird spin off of the original Pride and Prejudice. Most of the book is just like the original Pride and Prejudice, except in this book you discover that England has Zombies and those Zombies are trying to overrun the country. So many young men and women have been sent to the Orient learn how to become Zombie Killers.

If you enjoy horror stories with a comedy feeling then you will enjoy this book. What I love most about these books is that they are so different from anything else out there.
