How to Get Solid Abs Quickly

Still struggling with pointless abs exercises? Getting 'washer board' abs is one of the most difficult muscles to build, at least as far as showing them off goes...

The small section right above your waste line is very hard to work out and thin out. Sometime is seems like no matter what you do, that small pouch never goes away.

In order to burn all of the fat off of your stomach you need to not only do a lot of the right exercises, but you also need to eat right, at least to a certain extent.

Having the perfect set of abs is what many people want but it's hard to come by for many... Some people are just taking the wrong approach in their abs exercises.

If you're doing the wrong type of workout, then it's almost pointless because your stomach muscles won't always tighten up like you want them to...

However when you find the right combination of workouts and exercises you will get very satisfying results.

One of the faster ways to get your desired results is with 'stair case exercises' I'll explain more below; they're a little advanced and might be too much for the beginner so just keep that in mind.

One mistake that I often see people making is trying to diet or starve themselves while they're working out or trying to get 6 pack abs.

This does a lot more harm then good because your body needs a lot of protein to build all of that muscle... Don't over-eat though, and stay away from junk food like chocolates, and greasy foods, they'll only drag out the process.

Just like with anything, getting rock solid abs all comes down to repetition and doing the right abs exercises... As long as you don't give up, you'll get your desired results.

Doing the Right Ab Workouts

Building ab muscles is probably the most common goal for any fitness enthusiast... The problem is, without the proper guidance, you can literally do hundreds of sit-ups each day and still not see any real results.

Some people also think that to build up the abdominal muscles faster, they should use weights; this isn't always true... I you're not targeting the right muscle group to the exact detail you won't get your desired results.

It's unfortunate, but many people who work out their abs, are not doing their abs exercises correctly... This just leads to quiting because of lack of results.

I'm not saying that if you're doing the wrong type of ab workouts that you're never going to get toned abs; it'll just take a lot longer to see significant results.

The point you need to understand is that your abdominal muscles have many different regions, so doing the same workout all of the time won't tone your entire stomach.

Therefore you need to exercise in certain patterns to get every region while you're doing your abs exercises.

Some exercises that you thought were for different muscle groups are actually very beneficial to your abdominal muscles... Some examples are leg raises, squats, and even bicycle twists.

Some people also like to use the big exercise ball which definitely helps, but it's not mandatory.

The main thing you always want to remember is to keep the right technique... The right technique can mean the world to your muscles and it will show when you look really defined.

Lastly always remember if you're a beginner not to push yourself too hard at first; you could easily en up pulling something and hurting yourself so ease into more reps and you get into better shape.

Best Ab Workout Exercises

By Laura E Matthews

Most of us would love to have a flat stomach with a sexy six-pack but are still trying to figure out how to accomplish this! The best ab workout would involve a combination of abexercises to work the different abdominal muscles. The correct combination of cardio exercise, weight training activities and a healthy balanced diet can improve your shape, overall health and help you get a great six-pack. Abdominal exercises are important too and below are some great abdominal exercises for the best ab workout:

1. Bicycle abdominal exercise:

The bicycle uses every muscle in your abs to create a strong, lean torso. Pull your abs in during the exercise and keep them contracted throughout to protect your back. Remember to breathe and go slowly so you can really feel it! Do 10-16 reps.

2. Crunches on the Ball:

You are probably aware that using an exercise ball makes your ab workout even more challenging. Lie on an exercise ball to do your crunches and you'll really work your abdominals in a whole new way while also working other muscles in your body like your legs and butt! Ensure you do not pull on your neck and roll forward a bit if the move is too difficult.

3. The Plank

The plank challenges the Transverse Abdominis muscle and the muscles of your back. You can do this move on your elbows or on your hands. Position yourself for the exercise as if you're about to do a push-up and hold that position, making sure your body is in one long, straight line from head to toes. Don't let your tummy sag and keep your neck straight. Hold the position as long as you can.

4. Abdominal Slide

This exercise challenges the abdominals in a different way and is an advanced exercise - therefore play close attention to your back. The movement involves rolling or sliding your hands out and using the abdominals and back to keep your body straight. Then contracting the them to pull back in. You can use a Torso Track or Ab Wheel to a couple of pieces of cardboard for this movement.

5. Reverse Crunch

This is a great exercise for working your obliques and it helps you target the lower portion of your abdominals too. The best way to do a reverse curl is to put an exercise ball under your knees. Contract your abdominals and use them to lift your hips off the floor this is a very small movement and you should not swing or use momentum during the exercise.

These exercises can help you work your abdominals but even the best ab workout cannot always get you the shape you desire - you also need to lose excess fat that covers your abs if you want a great six-pack! To get the six-pack you desire you really do need to follow a complete program of diet, exercise and a great ab workout.
