An Eclectic Set of Mouse Pads for Your PC or Home Computer!

Did you know the mouse, as we know it today, was originally referred to as a "turtle"? The way some work, it's a wonder that name didn't stick! It became a "mouse" in the late 60s, since the wiring attached at the bottom resembled a mouse's tail much more than that of a turtle's.

Another interesting fact is that its creator, Douglas Englebart, has never received so much as a nickel from his invention! By the time the mouse became popular with computer companies, his patent had expired!

With our busy lives, most of us don't have the chance to ponder such things as a "mouse", a "mouse pad", or even the amazing technology that goes into the computers that are such a part of our lives. I don't know about you, but I find little factoids like these extraordinarily interesting!

And here's one more for you, if you thought "boring!" to the above: in various parts of the world, like India, some companies sell them with a taxoderm-ied tarantula or scorpion inside! No joke!

I'd like to say that mouse pads are just as interesting, but let's face it--they're not. No nifty history. No depth of character. Comparing a mouse pad to a mouse is like comparing a blank sheet of paper to a box of crayons.

So, let's spice things up a bit!

Mandalas! Mandalas! Mandalas!

The word "Mandala" is Sanskrit for "Circle". Mandalas are much more than mere circles, though. They've been used for meditation for thousands of years, from Buddhists, Hindus, Native Americans and a long list of other cultures. You have to admit, they're very, very hypnotic.
