The Brian Johnson Era of the AC/DC Band

AC DC GuitarAfter Scott's death the band was about to quit, but it was his will the band to continue performing. So the band considered couple of vocalists to replace Scott. Among them were: Buzz Sherman (ex-Moxy), Terry Slesser (ex-Back Street Crawler), Noddy Holder (Slade) and finally Brian Johnson (ex-Geordie) which was chosen as a new vocalist of the AC/DC band.

With Brian, the band finished writing songs they had started with Scott for the 'Black in Black' album. They recorded the album several months after Scott's death in the Bahamas (Compass Point Studios). 'Black in Black' is the best-selling album of the AC/DC band and became a kind of hard-rock landmark. This album includes such great hits as: 'Black in Black', 'You Shook Me All Night Long' and 'Hells Bells'.

The album became platinum in three months after its release. It became 4th highest-selling album in the US and 2nd in the whole world [position number one occupies Thriller by Michael Jackson].
