AC/DC: Real Rock 'N' Roll Thunder!

While KISS is my favorite band of all time, AC/DC comes in a very, very, very close second. I discovered AC/DC when I was around 12 or 13 years old. 'Highway To Hell' had just been release and I won a copy of it off of the radio. I won the top 10 Albums and Singles at that time which included the likes of Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and The Cars...it was great to win but the only album I ended up keeping was 'Highway To Hell'...I didn't care for anything else I had won.

I was soon out searching for more AC/DC...and boy did I find it!

AC/DC Gives You Your Money's Worth!

If you have ever been to an AC/DC concert you know that it isn't just concert, it is experience. Before the band comes on stage you can feel the electricity in the air as the fans get more and more excited about the show they are about to experience. At an AC/DC concert, you hear them before you see them, all it takes is a cord or two from Angus Young's (who you have to search for because Angus rarely starts the show up front and center) guitar and you know it is time to rock!

For the next two hours you are going to be on your feet jumping and dancing to the music, singing along and screaming your approval. If you need a chair, then you are in the wrong place. After two hours of thunderous rock n' roll music you will head home, sweaty, exhausted, happy and about 5 pounds lighter.

No one can say that you don't get your money's worth at an AC/DC concert.

You've been THUNDERSTRUCK!

Back in the 90's when I used to watch Thursday Night Thunder, I always felt that they should have opened with 'Thunderstruck'.

AC/DC tunes I just can't live without!

ac dc hard rock band

With the hundreds of songs that a band as long lived as AC/DC puts out, it can eventually become pretty hard to choose your favorites. I mean my favorite AC/DC song used to be 'Highway To Hell', then it was 'Sink The Pink' , then it was 'For Those About To Rock'...well you get the idea. Well, below are five of my favorites:

'Jailbreak' because I love how ugly the guys get when they perform this one, the guys play with a lot of passion and you can really see it in this one.

'Thunderstruck' because that is exactly how I feel after a good loud AC/DC song.

'Rock 'n' Roll Damnation' because of the line 'Take a chance while you've still got the choice.' I live by that line.

Up To My Neck In You' because it has the best dang guitar solo ever!

'Rock 'n' Roll Train'...need I really explain why?

Random Angus Young Fact

Did you know that Angus has not 1, not 3, but 6 older siblings?

Bon Scott And Brian Johnson

Two Incredible Front Men

ACDC Bon Scott and Brian JohnsonBoth Bon Scott and Brian Johnson are two of the best front men ever and AC/DC is lucky enough to have had them both. I refuse to compare the two for one simple reason, Mr. Scott did not choose to leave the band. Life happens, and unfortunately so does death. While the sense of loss after Bon Scott passed could not even begin to be measured, it did open the door for Brian Johnson.

Brian Johnson with the determination and confidence of a man who knew he has what it takes, stepped up to the plate and filled some pretty big shoes. Any doubts about Johnson's abilities where squashed the second his voice roared to life in 'Back In Black'. And here we are, over 30 years later and the guys are still rocking just as hard and just as strong.

Up To My Neck In You

From "Powerage"

Even though there is only music on this video I had to add it to my lens because I believe this is my favorite guitar solo ever! It is loud, it is hard and it rocks! Enjoy...

With all of the manufactured 'American Idol' all sound and look alike garbage coming out these days, I keep my old stuff handy. :-)
