Acer Aspire 7720-6569 Laptop 17 inch Screen

I made this choice basically because of price. I paid $749.00 at Staples for this machine. It was on sale for $100 off! But the real reason I chose Acer was because of the screen size. I wanted a big screen because you cannot go back and get a bigger screen! I can add memory or hard drives or other hardware, but you cant change the screen size! With 17 inches sitting in my lap I am a happy man! I think most men would be!
I seached at Wal Mart and Staples because that is the best two choices in my town! I am impatient and couldn't wait for shipping if I ordered it online! Wal Mart had some really nice laptop that were around 400 or so, but the biggest screen there was only 15 inches. So I went on down to Staples. They pretty much had all the same ones that Wal Mart did, but they also had my Acer sitting there, plus it had been featured in their weekly shopper ad and was on sale for 100 cheaper!

Now I only know what some of that means, but for new users sake, it means the machine is pretty darn fast! Plus it has plenty of room to store pictures, music files, or games on it! It has plenty of power to play video games on!

I promised a review of my new laptop so here goes!...

I can only compare to this one to one I had about a year ago. That one was an old Dell Latitude. The Aspire 7720 came preloaded with Windows Vista. So far I love Vista, the graphical interface of Vista is very nice. A lot of glossy icons and neat little features. But you don't care about that right, you want to know about the laptop! Right so where was I? Oh yea... This laptop is very quiet! You cannot even hear the fan running inside. I remember my old one was loud. The laptop stays pretty cool too. I remember the Dell would get very warm in my lap, but this Acer has yet to even get my attention as being warm.

The reason I wanted a laptop is because I am a graphic artist who makes designs to sell on t-shirts and gifts at cafepress.com. I wanted something that I could carry with me to show my customers and friends all my designs. I am not an expert on laptops or a tech geek! I have created this page and review of my laptop in hopes of guiding someone else on making a decent decision on getting one of these laptops.

Whats the biggest question about a laptop I can think of? hmm. BATTERY LIFE!!!
How long does an Acer 7720 laptop battery last? It says in the owners manual that the battery has to be fully charged and drained a couple times before the battery reaches its prime power. I will say that at full battery my acer laptop will last around an hour and a half.

Okay folks, I have had this laptop going on the third month now! It is still running problem free! I may need to do a defrag though as some programs have slowed done some!
I really love having this laptop, and so far have not even thought twice about other laptops! I am completely happy!

Being a graphic designer, my graphics folder is huge! This Acer 7720-6569 has a 160GB hard drive! I haven't even tapped into the second portion of my hard drive yet!
I have a font folder that would make a publisher cry! At last check I have over 4,500 fonts!
So I am really loving this laptop! I always thought that laptops were small and didn't have much storage space, but this thing is great! I haven't turned my desktop on in at least two weeks now!

After eleven months my Acer Laptop is still running pretty good. The main hard drive has gotten pretty full and I have been adding some files to the second hard drive to lessen it some. It went though some crashes as it was heating up and shutting itself off. I ran the disk clean up tool and cleared out a couple gigs of junk files and it is stopped doing that now.
My desktop has been collecting dust and cobwebs! I do all my work on my Acer. Sometimes I don't shut it down for 2-3 days!
