The Celebration
Ulrich Tomsen gives an amazing performance in this 1998 Thomas Vinterburg Dogme film from Denmark. I hear there is going to be an American remake. I don't see how they can touch the quality of this film made in the Dogme tradition with no artificial sound, light and all held hand camera.

What is Acting?
things to understand
- objective - this is basically what your character wants from scene-to-scene, moment-to-moment
Better to be grounded in someone else. Your scene partner. What do you want/need from them? - super-objective - this is what your character wants throughout the play.
- obstacles - this is what stands in the way of the objective. Line them up objective and obstacle - do they relate?
internal obstacles: somehow the character stands in their own way
external obstacles: what is outside of their control - stakes - what your character has to gain or lose if they do or do not get their objective - there MUST be a chance that they won't gain what they need or want
