Succeeding In Network Marketing

The journey's been long but not unlike the struggle most network marketers have faced. Here's how it started: My first foray into network marketing was with a nutritional company simply because I liked their products and wanted to get them cheaper. What happened next is why I'm in network marketing. I did not intend to build a business. I didn't think it was possible, but the product worked so well, that before I knew it, my friends were signing up and I started to get $50 a week for awhile. I couldn't believe it! Since I was making money, I started to see the possibilities. So I went to work. I even put ads on the town bulletin boards. Two or three people came on board from the ads. A year and a half went by and I made $2200. The only problem was, I spent more than that the year and a half I was in the business. Nobody renewed their yearly fee, and nobody brought any team members into our organization. I didn't have a system for them to duplicate me, so it just fizzled.

In September a friend called me up and told me about this other network marketing company. She showed me her first commission check. I blurted out, "What are you doing to get a check like this so fast?!" It was $2100. She asked me to sign up. I said, "No, you know people don't like to get into these businesses." She talked me into it by offering to loan me money until I got going. I didn't take her money, but I got the feeling that this must be really good for her to do that.

I knew from day one that I did not want to go to my friends and family. I knew it. I knew it. I knew it! But, of course I still did. And I hated doing it. Then I joined a marketing company to help me attract leads, but I didn't want to leave cards all over town like they suggested, so I bought leads from a company they recommended. My goal was to sign up people that did not come from my warm market. I got nowhere with that. I tried newspaper ads for my company. Nothing. "Now what did I get myself into?" I asked myself over and over.

One day while searching online, I discovered successin10steps. I read it. It was GOOD. I agreed with Michael that the traditional network marketing teaching of making a list of 100 people I know and talking to everybody within three feet of me was not a good marketing plan, so I embraced his teaching and his system.

Now here I am, happy, happy, happy about what successin10steps offers me and my team. I am so thankful to Michael Dlouhy who founded The Mentoring for Free System.
