How I Got My Practice on the First Page of Google in 20 MInutes
I want to share an acupuncture marketing strategy with you that very few acupuncturists are currently taking advantage of to build their practices.
As you likely know, the internet is a very powerful place to attract new acupuncture patients. In particular, one of your main objectives should be getting your acupuncture website on the first page of google. Sometimes this is very easy to do, while other times it can be challenging, depending on how competitive your market is.
Even if you do get your practice ranked high on Google, it can take a few weeks or even months to see results.
If you're looking for a faster way, check this out. I was able to get on the first page of Google for multiple keywords in 20 minutes.
How did I do it?
Through online video marketing.
I shot a series of very short videos, then distributed them through multiple video sharing sites.. and BAM! 20 minutes later I was on the first page of Google for some of the main keywords people would use to find a practitioner like me.
You can do the same thing for your practice. Shoot a series of videos, then learn how to syndicate them through video sharing sites. This is a free and easy way to market your services. Plus, like I said, very few practitioners ever consider doing this as a viable part of their marketing plan.
In order to thrive in private practice, it's important to get creative in your marketing efforts. Be willing to do what nobody else is doing-and you'll likely see better results!

Why Direct Response Marketing is the Best Way to Build Your Acupuncture Practice
If you are an acupuncturist looking to grow a high volume practice, I encourage you to master the art of direct response marketing. In my personal and coaching experience, this is the fastest way to attract new patients.Direct response marketing means that you invite prospective patients to get some free information before they call you for treatment. For example, if you are running a Google Adwords campaign, a direct response approach would be sending web visitors to a landing page that encourages them to download a free report or audio that you have created that will educate them on what you do and how you can help them.
Or, if you are running a display ad, the whole purpose of the ad is to get the reader to go to your website and leave their name and email address in exchange for helpful information.
What most acupuncturists do is run a typical display ad or Google Adwords campaign that sends someone to an online brochure. The prospect's only option in this scenario is to call your office or leave your website. Direct response marketing recognizes the importance of an intermediary step-as most people will NOT be ready to call you right away from an ad. You need to establish trust, build a relationship, and clearly show them that you understand their pain and that you can help them.
This is what your free article or report would focus on. For instance, my acupuncture website offers a free 35 page e-book called How to Thrive in the Modern World. The main intention of my home page is to get someone to download this e-book so they can see if my style of treatment is a good fit for them and so I can encourage them (gently and skillfully of course) to pick up the phone and call me so we can discuss their needs.
Now, when people download this e-book they go on my email list which is a very important point. The bigger that list gets, the bigger your practice will get and the more your practice income will grow.
The first goal if the direct response approach is to generate a lead-not make a sale. You want that person to raise their hand and express interest, then qualify them through your information, and THEN have them pick up the phone and call you. Lead generation is what makes businesses thrive! If you understand this, you'll be way ahead of your competition.
Direct response marketing is a big subject to tackle, but I wanted to convey the importance of this marketing approach to you. Most acupuncturists waste their advertising dollars because they don't understand the psychology of selling and they create ad campaigns that are ineffective.
By mastering the direct response approach, you will likely never have to worry about bringing enough new patients in the door.

The Fastest Way to Build Your Acupuncture Practice
As a marketing coach for many holistic practitioners, I have had the opportunity to experiment with all kinds of ideas and theories related to bringing new clients in the door. Out of all the marketing strategies that I have tested, I want to reveal the one that can work the FASTEST to start generating leads and get people in your door. This method works faster than display ads, public speaking, networking, social media marketing, or SEO.
Now, before I reveal what this strategy is, I want to make it ABUNDANTLY CLEAR that there is a learning curve with this technique-meaning that you can't just casually try it and expect great results. If you are willing to master this strategy, it may be all that you need to do for external marketing.
The strategy is%u2026
Google Adwords.
Google Adwords is pay-per-click advertising, meaning that you set up an ad on Google and pay them whenever someone clicks on your website. Why do I recommend this strategy? Here are a few reasons:
1. The traffic you get to your website is highly qualified: You will only pay Google when someone clicks on your ad from a specific keyword that you have set up in your campaign. For instance, if you are an acupuncturist practicing in Dallas, Texas, you would pay for someone typing in 'acupuncturist in Dallas' to go to your website. This is vastly more targeted than typical display advertising because you are only marketing to people that are already looking for what you have to offer.
2. You can start getting traffic to your website within a few minutes: This is a super-fast way to get new people exposed to your work. Compare this with setting up talks, waiting for Google to index your site organically, or any other way to market.. and it's obvious that it is by far the most efficient way to gain exposure. ( I am a BIG fan of speed when it comes to business development; it's all about creating and maintaining positive momentum and avoiding stagnation at all costs).
3. You can create highly specific campaigns: If someone types in 'Dallas anxiety treatment' into Google, you can drive that person to a very specific page on your website that educates them on how your treatment can help them with that specific issue. In this way, you are having a selling conversation that is directly related to what the person is searching for, needs help with, and is willing to spend money on.
4. Enhance the results you are getting from organic searches: If you are already ranked on the first page of Google for the main keywords people are typing in to find you, then setting up an Adwords campaign will only enhance the results you are getting. The more times your name pops up on that first page, the better. If you have to pay for some of that traffic, that is totally fine, as long as you are sending that traffic to a site that is set up for success.
5. You can set up a highly controlled budget: You tell Google how much you want to spend on your campaign each month, whether it's $25 or $1,000. Google will send you traffic up to that limit, but it won't go beyond it. This gives you total control over your marketing budget.
6. Conversion tracking: You can set up HTML code on your website that Google gives you to track what percentage of your paid traffic is actually converting into a lead for your business. In this sense, it's extremely scientific.. which means there is no guess work for you in terms of whether it is working or not.
7. Entrepreneurial proof: I personally use pay per click marketing for my businesses and generate several leads per day on auto-pilot. I have one mentor who generates 3-400 leads per day from Adwords alone-and makes about 3 million per year%u2026 most of which comes from this form of advertising. I know many other business owners who are having great success with Adwords on a lesser scale. As long as you set up your site the right way, this form of advertising is proven to work.
Now, with that said, I also know many practitioners who have tried Adwords and lost money. This is actually very common. In order to make Adwords effective, your website must be set up as a form of direct response advertising-not an online brochure.
You can't just send people to your website from a Google ad and say, ' Here are our office hours, here's our phone number, call us.'
That is what most people do.
Direct response advertising means that you generate leads from your website by getting the web visitor to opt in for a free article, report, or video that you have created. You get their contact information, then do follow up marketing. Just trust me on this one- this approach works much better than the online brochure method.
With that said, even if you have tried Adwords in the past and not seen much success, I encourage you to do it again%u2026 but set your website up with a direct response approach.
I have personally helped practitioners set up their Adwords campaigns to generate up to 5 new patients per week. Depending on the market, they may have to invest several hundred dollars per month to accomplish this, but they still enjoy a significant ROI. The fact that it is virtually automated makes it a very appealing form of marketing for those with a decent promotional budget.
