Hyperactivity Disorder
Children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, or commonly known as ADHD, will naturally display some symptoms like obliviousness or forgetfulness to remember certain things, hyperactivity, easy distraction on doing some activities among other things. Unfortunately, although this particular disease is generally considered to be chronic and persistent, there is still no available cure found. And the sadder news is that sixty percent who exhibited or displayed ADHD symptoms during their childhood years will most likely retain this neurological disorder when they reach adulthood.Many are attributing the world of genetics as the main contributor of this particular disease to humans. In other words, there is a familial transmission of this disorder from parents to children. However, one-fifth of all the documented cases of ADHD to humans have also led to another conclusion that ADHD can also be caused by a brain injury of the child sustained during conception.
Diagnosis of this particular mental disorder requires the patient to undergo some tests to know if the patient will display any ADHD symptoms. The resulting responses or actions of the patient will then be evaluated under certain criteria that will then confirm if the person is suffering from ADHD. The first obvious symptom of someone suffering from this disorder is one's usual inattention to many things. Inattention here refers to the frequency of a certain patient to make careless mistakes while doing some easy activities. It can also refer to easy ability to lose focus while tasked to do some work or fulfill some responsibilities. It is also noticeable that the suspected patient does not seem to listen when someone is speaking directly to him or her, has difficult times organizing the things that needs to be done, does not prefer things that require mental exercising for a long period of time, fails to follow instructions correctly and often loses the things related to the activities being done themselves.
Another obvious symptom of this disorder is hyperactivity. The patient is often fidgeting and making some unnecessary body movements. He or she cannot also stay in one place and will usually stand where everyone should be seated as expected. An ADHD patient also runs and climbs any thing even if it is inappropriate to the overall situation.
