At the height of the group's fame, Adam and the Ants members included, Adam Ant, Marco Pirroni, Gary Tibbs, Terry Lee Miall, and Merrick.

Former members, Matthew Ashman, Leigh Gorman and Dave Barbarossato left the band in 1980. They combined with Annabella Lwin to become the successful group known as Bow Wow Wow.

Adam and the Ants completely disbanded in 1982 when Adam Ant went on to persue a solo career. He did however continue writing songs with Marco Pirroni
