Adam's Letter - A cry for help from a lonely teen

Adam Krieger was an average student just trying to get by. More than half his classmates never knew his name, but he knew them all. Every wrong ever done to him was made public for all to see when he posted his suicide note on a website.

"Adam's Letter" is a fictional play by John Cosper. It deals with teen suicide, depression, sex, drugs, peer pressure, pregnancy, but most of all it cries out for what Adam needed most: love.

"Adam's Legacy" is a companion play that zooms in on one student impacted by Adam and how it changed her family.

These plays can be performed together or separate in schools, churches, or where ever you can find a stage. They are also available for filmmakers, and both scripts are totally free.

Adam's Song by Blink 182

Despite Internet rumors, this song was not inspired by Adam Krieger. (The play was written after the song's release.) Neither was the play written in response to the song. But the song still has something important to anyone whoever felt like Adam.

A Teen's (Ficticious) Suicide Letter

READ MY DESCRIPTION****** So it turns out the whole Adam' Song was about Adam Krieger is completely false. There is no connection. www.adamsletter.com was recently updated to make it clear. However, the whole message behind this stands. This note is written beautifully and in such a way that we might be able to understand a small portion of what is going on inside the minds of these types of people and possibly save some lives. ****But what I really do not like about all this .....if this (a SINGLE person's) note was real, it would have more of an impact on people. But seeing a fake note and only reading statistics of literally THOUSANDS who take their life away every day because of relatively the same problems, we do not flinch. What has become of ourselves? We are so unmotivated and stone-cold. We live in a society where showing visible emotion is seen as one being weak. We're destroying ourselves. This is how the world ends...

Adam's Letter Movie

A high school group is now in production on a film version of Adam's Letter. Details are still coming, but we hope to have the movie posted online when it is complete. The students are hoping to get permission to use "Adam's Song" by Blink 182 in the film. If anyone can get them in contact with the band regarding rights to use the song, please email me!

Friends of Adam speak out

If you have been touched by this play, or have a reaction to share, please post it here. We'd love to hear from you.

Adam was a smart caring kid, but it still shockes me how he took it all, how hard everyone made him to drown in his own tears. why coulden't they leave him alnoe, why dident anyone react to hes pain and loneliess of self pitty. But i also think why they self douted him was he so easy to pick on or was he the one that was alnoe most of the time to carry out his own thoughts and reactshions. But karma should of come for the poeple that hurted him maybe they think about him whishing they changed. Then that leads us to his parents, why didnt they care, it was there own son. the one that carrys out his familys name and they just sat there every day problubly not asking how his day went. even opening up some times to show they cared. Last Adam Kriegier may you rest in peace in to hope that you carry on in the light of good fortun and hopefull ness and thank you blink 182 to show they cared

R.I.P Adam
Am I Alone?
by Megan Hance
I get a funny feeling,
it comes from deep inside.
I get all mad and angry,
wanting to go and hide.

My doctor calls it depression,
my dad says it's just me.
But the thoughts and feelings,
no one will ever be able to see.

Some say I'm psycho,
some say I'm just weird.
It's like I'm a different person,
and the old me just disappeared.

I get really edgy,
I want to commit suicide real bad.
Then I get a headache,
followed by feeling sad.

I wish I could get help,
I wish it would go away.
Maybe if I keep praying real hard,
it will some day.
Be nIce to the people arround u casue one day they could commit suicide and u could be one pointed out.

Adam, I never heard about your letter until today. I was at my boyfriends house and he showed me this. I tried to hold back my tears. I came home to read it all again and just cried my eyes out. Im sure a lot of people feel your pain and have gone through the cruel people out there. I am really sorry people made you feel this way. Your letter has impacted a lot of people so i respect you for writing it. I hope people change after reading this because i know it makes me want to. I hope you have everything you ever wanted now and you are in a place where you belong. Rest in Peace

Adam, after I read your note, I shed tears. I truely do understand what you've been going through. Blame the people around you, not yourself. Your note inspired many people. I can see why you blamed God, It's okay, I blame him sometimes too. If only I could've met you. I wouldn't just give you the usual "Hello" and "Goodbye"s. I would give you more then that. I would save you a seat at lunch, talk to you during classes, even if it ment getting its loads of trouble. I know you've passed by, and I hope they have internet up by you. Please read these comments people have given you. 1,000 words isn't enough for me to say. You've lied Adam, you lied about a habit of yours. Poems. Poems were your very best thing, just didn't have enough time to think about it. Live. Laugh. Love. The three things you need to be human&alive. I hope my heart out to you, that you followed your dream and went to a nicer place. I'm sure a few of those people you mentioned must be up there. We miss you,
-Brian {*}
