Help feed a family for Thanksgiving
Every year we receive hundreds of pounds of food donated, but we are required to purchase turkeys for families for $11.99 per turkey.
***Please note that due to nonprofit donation policy, donations made via paypal are not tax deductable. If you would like your donation to be tax deductable, please mail a check payable to "CSU, Stanislaus Foundation - A Day of Hope" at PO Box 3853, Turlock, CA 95381
How YOU can feed a family
You are probably asking, "How can I help A Day of Hope feed families?"
We're so glad you asked! The best way you can help A Day of Hope to feed families this
Thanksgiving is to make a small financial donation.
A donation of $20 will go to
helping us purchase a turkey and food to deliver to a hungry family for
Thanksgiving.
If you have any questions email Christopher Scott at
christopher@adayofhope.org or call 209.304.4291 for more information.

Search and earn $ for A Day of Hope
It's a user generated site affiliated with Yahoo where you can search and earn money for charity.
You're going to search anyway, so why not earn some money for charity while you do it.
How we were started.
This is the story how A Day of Hope was started.
A Day of Hope was started by college student reading a book about a young man receiving a Thanksgiving basket when his family did not have the money to purchase food for Thanksgiving. As a result that young man's life was changed forever. He then dedicated every waking hour to helping other people to live a life of enjoyment and fullfillment.
So this college student, after reading this asked, "If I could not just deliver one basket, what would happen if I could deliver 30 baskets?"
And then it was off, he started by making phone calls to local churches and charties out of his small apartment bedroom to search out and find people who wanted to get involved.
A powerful story
A recent visitor to this lens emailed me this story
I just went and signed and voted for one of your lenses, unfortunaely not all that i wrote appeared, so would like to share it ...when we first came to the U.S. in 1950 we had nothing and every Thanksgiving and Christmas for several years we got food baskets from a local church, I will never forget this. Now through my husbands Veterans organization we donate food to the local pantry or make baskets for those in need. I am proud to be an American, this is the most generous country in the world...Thank You for what you do...
God Bless You,

This is an email that Christopher received from a volunteer
It is very humbling to see the struggles others face and a reminder of why we are grateful for the life our family enjoys.
Thanks so much to you for giving your heart, might, mind and spirit to such a truly generous cause. Please don't hesitate to call on us for any support in the future.
Sincerely,
Donald

I like what you are doing to help people. I have though about helping people around my little town that are along and have no one to help them. If we all took a plate of food to just one person it could make world of hope to them. thanks to you for what you are doing.

Great lens you have here. It's really nice to see people working together to help others. Kinda like the good ol' days. You don't see much of that anymore though. I love participating in things like this. Unfortunately we don't see alot of things like this in my town there for it's kinda hard to help out. I love helping people, who knows one day I may need the help. I think what you guys are doing is great! God Bless you all! Have a wonderful holiday season!

So heartwarming. When I was 22,(so many years ago) I had two small children, couldn't pay my electric bill, had no money for Christmas, and literally no food. My children and I had popcorn for dinner that day. It was Christmas Eve, and the electric company pulled up to my door. My heart sank, why did they have to disconnect my electricity on Christmas Eve? Why couldn't they wait until the day after Christmas? I heard the dreaded knock on my door, and when I opened it, three men stood there with large boxes of food. "This is for you", they said, "Merry Christmas". They set the boxes down and then brought in boxes of clothes and toys. I just stood there in awe. These 3 wise men became angels to me to me that day. They also informed me that my electric bill was paid in full.
You do God's work, and it will touch us forever.
