The 3 Simple to Follow Secrets to Solving Any Form of Addiction

Quitting Marijuana or any form of addiction can be easier than to think. Here's a quick 1-2-3 that may just do the trick for you.

1. Decide. Having a strong decision to quit marijuana is the most effective way to combat the urge to use it. You won't get far without a conscious pro-active decision to quit.

2. Clean up. Get rid of all items related to your addiction. If you're an alcoholic, get rid of all those beer in the fridge and the empty bottles as well. If you're a cigarette or marijuana smoker, get rid of all the ashtray, lighters and cigarettes. Throw them away, burn them or whatever. This affirms your decision that you really want to quit.

3. Distract. Your body will eventually want to go back to its "old ways" so you have to keep yourself distracted. Watch movies, play basketball, talk with "non-addict" friends, etc. The more you distract yourself, the more chances you give to your body to heal itself.

Just follow these steps and you'll definitely have a better chance of solving this problem or click here for another way of treating your addiction.

Understanding Addiction, What is it?

Instead of giving you a boring medical explanation of what addiction is all about, allow me to explain it to you in a simple way. Why the heck should I go through all those technical stuff and let you fall asleep, right?

So, here's what addiction is.

1. Addiction is when you want to keep on doing something even if you know it's wrong.

2. Addiction is when you begin to do something and becomes so attached to it that you can't live without it.

3. Addiction is when you feel incomplete when your source of addiction is not around.

Note: If you've noticed, addiction is pretty much like love except that addiction is often referred to something that destroys you.

4. Addiction is bad and you want to get rid of it.

Lastly...

5. Addiction is a disorder that can be treated.

Why is it so hard to quit?

Maybe because you don't want to...

Ironic as it is, many people find addiction so hard to get over with simply because they don't want to. They know it's bad and they say that they don't like it but deep within themselves, they don't really want to quit. It is the most prevalent reason of why quitting any form of addiction is so hard for many.

Addiction is like that delicious candy that you've always craved for. You want it and you'll do anything to get it. When you were a child, you'd often end up having tantrums if you're mom or dad won't buy it for you. You like it and it has a strong attachment to you.

I know someone who's so indulged into drinking that seeing him sober for a day is practically a miracle. On one of these sober days he told me that he doesn't really like it and he was so convincing with his words. I told him the truth and said, "No, I think you like it. Otherwise you would have gotten over it."

Of course, deciding is just the first step and that's the point. You ain't going nowhere unless you take that first step.

Addiction's strong attachment is the one that makes you want it to stay even if the whole world says otherwise. That means that unless you "REALLY" want to treat your addiction problem then you're going nowhere. It starts with you having a REAL decision that you want to quit and soon you'll find yourself free.

My friends have often asked me, what should I expect when I quit marijuana? Your lens reminds me of what I usually tell them. You find that you have more money, a new found confidence, massive improvements to short term memory, more clear thinking, and a feeling of increased health. I you havn't quit marijuana already, what are you waiting for?
