If You're A Frequent Traveler, Find Out How To Get New Passport Pages

You are eligible to apply for new U.S. passport pages if you fall under two categories. First, you can request to add passport pages if your passport has less than two to four pages left. On the other hand, you can also apply for additional pages if you travel regularly and are in need of a new passport book. If you fall under either of these categories, then you'll naturally want to know how to add passport pages to your current passport.

When To Get New Pages

Let's discuss the first category first. If you are a passport holder, and your passport has less than two to four pages in it, you'll need to request additional passport pages. But why request pages so soon? That's because it will save you a lot of time when you do that now, rather than when you are already about to travel.

What Forms Do You Need?
In this situation, you will have to fulfill two requirements: your passport must be valid, and you need to fill in Form DS-4085. This form is what you'll need to fill in if you need to request additional passport pages. Once you have filled in the DS-4085, you can then mail it to the address indicated, along with your current US passport.

They're Free!
You don't need to pay anything to request for additional passport pages. However, if you want to have the processing of your passport expedited, then you will have to pay for this kind of option. Keep in mind to clearly write on the envelope 'Expedited' to indicate what you want done with it. Also, expedited passports are only allowed to those who need to leave the US in two weeks, or those who need the passport in four weeks for their foreign visa application.

Now, on to the next situation. If you travel frequently, then chances are you quickly fill up your
USA passport book faster than most people. In this instance, you need to apply for a new passport book once the passport pages run out. This will require a different procedure altogether.

How To Request New Pages
To request new passport pages, you need to send a signed letter requesting one. Along with this letter should be the completed DS-82 form. Filling in this form will allow you to send your passport application by mail. But in instances where are you ineligible to apply by mail, you'll need to complete the DS-11 form. When using the DS-11, you will submit this form in person, along with your letter to the passport office.

Should you decide to send your passport application by mail, choose a tracked method of delivery. This will help ensure that the addressee receives your application. All modern couriers now offer this type of delivery. Aside from that, ensure that your documents are secure by placing them in a secure envelope. Look for an envelope that isn't easily damaged so it remains in good condition until it arrives at the passport office.

It can't be easier to request for additional U.S. passport pages. First of all, you would need to determine under which of the two categories you fall. Be aware that there are different procedures you need to follow if you are an applicant with less than two to four passport pages left, as well as when you are a frequent traveler. Now you know how to add passport pages to your pass port.
