Adele

Sassy and soulful, jazz singer and songwriter Adele has been hailed by British press as the new Amy Winehouse.

At only 19 years of age, Adele released her first record, Hometown Glory, on the 22nd October 2007.

After signing with independent music label XL Recordings, Adele went on to release her second single, Chasing Pavements.

Chasing Pavements hit number 2 in the UK charts and was closely followed by the release of Adele's first album, 19.

19 blasted straight to the number 1 spot in the UK album charts, going platinum within a month of its release.

Adele Facts

Adele was born Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, on May 5th 1988 in London.

Adele graduated from The BRIT School for performing arts & technology in Croydon in May 2006, which was the same performing arts school attended by Amy Winehouse, Katie Melua, Leona Lewis and Kate Nash.

Adele's debut single Hometown Glory was featured on the season 4 finale of Grey's Anatomy.
