The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec comic

This series is the creation artist Jacques Tardi, acting as both writer and illustrater, and originally published by Belgian publisher Casterman.

The stories are set in the early 20th century Paris, France, using many real-life locations.

Jacques Tardi is among the greats, with a very distinct style of his own and tremendous details in each panel.
My one complaint might be that the men all look very much alike, making it hard at times to distinguish one character from the next, thus making the already convoluted story line even more complicated... that said, as crazy and convoluted as these stories may be, they have a great deap-pan approach to the fantastic and utterly ridiculous.

Though certainly worthy of his own lens, Jacques Tardi is not the subject of this specific page -the adventuress Adele blanc-Sec is... so let's jump in, shall we?

It seems Adele Blanc-Sec has arrived in Hollywood...

Rather than retelling one specific story, this movie takes on several aspects of the Adele stories and throws them all into one fun movie, a-la-Indiana Jones.
