Adidas Busenitz

Dennis Busenitz is an American skateboard champion, who has a fantastic nickname that I can't really publish on Squidoo. Safe to say it's a play on his surname. In fact he was born in Germany and spent much of his youth in the land of Saurkraut and great beer (not that I'm saying that's all they have, sheesh).

He's a humble, modest sort of guy that didn't take naturally to the fame that winning competitions brought him. Now that he's got his name on a range of adidas shoes, he's even more famous than ever.

He's also just secured his place in the skateboarders hall of fame by winning the Tampa Pro 2011 in March in an incredible, relaxed, display that had people so hyped that they were throwing their boards into the course once he'd finished.

The adidas Busenitz and adidas Busenitz Pro are sweet skater shoes. And amazingly not only do they carry Dennis's name, but he had a hand in designing them too. It's not just a label that's been stuck on to sell more shoes, but an attempt at making a decent skater shoe.

Adidas are becoming pretty good at not just relying on their reputation adidas bags are innovative and functional and not just good looking.

While that's impressive, it's not as impressive as the shoes are.

Based on the Copa Mondial range, of course without the cleats, the adidas Busenitz come in blue, white, gold and black. Combining simplicity and performance, they'll suit you even when you're not skating.

I like the Pro version by far the most. With a suede upper and aerated inner allowing my feet to breathe, they are grippy so I won't lost my footing unless there are gravity implications.

I couldn't give a higher recommendation for skater shoes.

I never used anything like a branded or special shoe on my board, but these are pretty sweet. Busenitz is an old school skater, he does it just for the love of skateboarding which I'm not sure if that makes any difference to the shoe, but I don't feel like such a corporate sellout when I wear em.
