Adirondack Nightmare: A Spooky Tale in the North Country

This great kids book, suitable for grades 2 or 3 to 5 or so, is based in the heart of the Adirondacks in New York State. It's eighteen-year-old Will Durant's first time away from home in Canada. He's on his own. Will has rented a place on Raquette Lake, and he's looking forward to spending his favorite holiday, Halloween, canoeing and enjoying the beauty of autumn.

But something is amiss in this place.

Halloween candy is not for sale.

Children are less than eager to trick-or-treat.

The townspeople say that a few years ago, someone had the bad idea of taking a walk through the ancient cemetery..

Our First Book!

Mother and Son Team Up For First Book

This is my first book and my son, a sophmore in high school, did the 41 illustrations! I'm so proud of him. It's a fun quick read and is being very well received so far.

There's three original Adirondack Recipes in the book and a fun paper helicopter seed pattern. The pattern is also available on our web site at www.rebeccaleonard.com/fun.htm. We've also got a crossword puzzle, word search and more. It's fun for kids!

Here we are at a local book presentation. It was at Lake Forest Senior Retirement Community. Some of the residents there are pen pals with 4th grade students from Momot Elementary School in Plattsburgh, NY. It was so exciting.

I think I'm understanding this lens stuff now. I just learned about blogging so my brain is getting filled up.
