Photoshop has come a long long way since its 1.0 version many many years ago. The latest version of Photoshop is now CS5, which is found in the Create Suite set of tools....

So what is new in CS5?

First a lot of new features are about saving you time as the graphic designer. Some of these features include:

- Improved Edge Selection
This feature improves thier "Refine Edge" feature, which increases the program's edge detection ability.

- Bristle Tips - Mixer Brush
The older versions were somewhat lacking in their painting features. This new "Mixer Brush and Bristle Tips" features, allow you to blend colors much more easily. It adds the ability such as how "wet" canvas colors are, as well as the mixing and load rates, and you can even decide whether or not you want to brush tip "cleaned" after every brush stroke. This gives you a more realistic painting result.

New "Booster" features
Some of these new booster features include:

- Black-and-white photo conversion is better
- Automated lens correction to correct lens distortion
- Use of mini Adobe Bridge

- HDR (high dynamic range imaging) Pro
This feature gives you much more control over the merging process for HDR (high dynamic range imaging) than in previous versions. Another related feature is that you can choose and save style presets easily in this version once you have found an effect you particularly like.

- Content Aware Fill
This feature allows you to be able to remove image elements that you don't want with details that will match the surrounding area, tone and lighting of the main image. The result is that it allows you to "clean up" images much more easily than was possible in the previous versions. This feature will save a significant clean up time and efforts with images. Your cleaned up images will also look much more natural as a result.
