Adobe Photoshop

Fantasy becomes reality. Dreams become photo-quality images. The surreal becomes real.

With Photoshop the only limit is your imagination and your talent.

You can 'photochop' your head into a movie poster. Remove blemishes from a close-up. Apply filters to a photo to make it look like an oil painting or a water color.

Things to do in Photoshop

Make a movie poster. Do a Google Image search for your favorite movies and find the cinema release poster (or the DVD cover) but make sure its the largest size dimensions as possible. Then cut out your head (or your friends) and put it on top. Paying attention to blending the colors so it looks as seamless as possible.

Find a nice shot of a family member with plenty of background and select them, inverse the selection, and desaturate the color of the background. It'll make them standout. Maybe even put a bit of blur on that background, but not too much. Experiment with how much blur you do until you feel comfortable with what you think is just enough.

Get a digital photo of a friend, a nice big close-up, and select their eyes, copying and pasting to a new layer. Then desaturate the original layer. The effect looks nice. But go further and adjust Hue/Saturation to bring out the color in the eyes more brilliantly. Maybe even make them a different color while you experiment. Also try it with the "colorize" box ticked while you're in Hue/Saturation to see the difference.

Personally, I'm a big fan of Photoshop version 7.

I use photoshop for sizing and printing out designs of Paper houses. I also create the papers for these crafty houses using Photoshop..../parade-of-paper-houses. I also like to superimpose a face of a relative(from a photo) on a paper doll to print out a gag gift!
