Description: Set of 55 videos that you can watch online. Covers mostly basics, but also includes case study videos for more advanced techniques.

Verdict: My top choice because it is comparatively cheap, but it gives you a lot of information. The tutorials are step-by-step, easy to follow videos, and they are not limited to teaching just the basics, which is nice. I just think overall, if you're getting started trying to learn Photoshop online, this course is the best in terms of value, information, and price.




Name: Total Training

Cost: $79.99

Description: Find the course for Photoshop CS3: Essentials. This course provides hours of training on the basics of Photoshop.

Verdict: This course is nice because it's online or on DVD. The price is a bit steep, but the course is designed and developed by Adobe Certified people, so you know they know what they are doing. I like their courses, but I don't like that if you want to go deeper or move on to more advanced things, you have to buy more DVD's. You can sign up for subscriptions for a certain amount of online time, but I am not too familiar with this method and think it's rather expensive. Bottom line, the training is excellent, but it's a bit pricey.




Name: The Graphics Champ Multimedia Program

Cost: $29.95

Description: 15+ Videos for Photoshop, but also other graphic design stuff.

Verdict: This is the only course that is not a purely "Learn Photoshop" course. You do learn Photoshop online, but you also learn other skills to help you with graphic design as a whole. I think I like this product because it's the most immediately applicational course in that it teaches you various web design techniques. My major gripe with it, though, is that the website is LearnPhotoshopVideos.com, but then the program is called The Graphics Champ Multimedia Program. I feel a little mislead by the website name vs. the product name. I value honesty, so I feel a little uneasy with how this course is sold. I feel like if you're selling a product you need to be clear about what you're selling. Bottom line, I think the product is a good course with lots of good information, but I just wish they were more upfront with things... it just rubs me a little wrong.




Name: Learn Photoshop Now

Cost:$97.00

Description: Set of over 20 videos that cover the basics of Photoshop, but also includes updates for versions CS2 and CS3.

Verdict: This product is similar to Photoshop By Example in that it provides tutorial videos you can follow along to learn Photoshop. In that sense it is a good course, I feel like it is overpriced. There is no reason for this product to be priced above something like the Total Training DVD's. In that sense, I just get a bad vibe from their pricing and the way their marketing is as a whole. This might be totally a personal preference, but I don't think that a sales page should be after your email before they even tell you what the product is really about. The fact that it is priced higher, makes me feel like they're just after your money. I just feel like a lot of things about this product really irk me..
