What Should I Include in my Baby's Birth Announcement

Although tradition has left us with a few suggestions as to what to include on or in your baby's birth announcement, most people today are choosing whatever information they want to put into these first greeting cards. For simplicity's sake, I will tell you what is traditionally included in a photo birth announcement.#1 Baby's Picture
- There's a reason that they are called "photo" birth announcements, it's because you want to put baby's picture into them.
- There are also versions that don't include pictures but they're not quite as fun or personal
#2 Baby's Full Name
- You want to get baby's full name out there because it will likely be your last chance to do so until you are sending out graduation announcements. Kids don't like it when you try putting their middle name on birthday party invitations.
#3 Baby's Birthday
- You should want people to know when baby was born. Don't forget to include the year so that you will have that as a part of your keepsake.
#4 Baby's Measurements
- The weight and length of your baby are important details that you are going to want to remember so don't forget to include them.
- Plus, without the measurements how are you going to harass your child, when they turn into a teenager, for being such a big baby and causing you all that extra work during labor ;)
#5 Add a special greeting or introdution
- "Introducing the newest member of our family..."
- "See who stole our hearts..."
- Your greeting here...
#6 Include the names of Mom, Dad, and Siblings to show just how big a part of the family baby has become!
- It's okay to claim your baby by putting a phrase on the announcement that says something to the effect of "daughter of..." or "son of..."
