Adrian Belew is a virtuoso. Plain and simple. His solo work represents a nice mix of popular and more esoteric progressive rock like you would find with King Crimson (where he is also a member). Everyone should be able to find something in his work that speaks to them.

Adrian has played with a very unique who's who in the music industry. While you might not have heard of him, you have heard him play before. He's played with the likes of David Bowie, Frank Zappa, Paul Simon, The Talking Heads, and others.

Adrian Belew (born Robert Steven Belew, December 23, 1949, in Covington, Kentucky) is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer. He is perhaps best known for his work as a member of the progressive rock group King Crimson (which he has fronted since 1981) and for his unusual approach to guitar playing, which features bizarre electronic tones, unorthodox playing techniques and a wide variety of sonic effects (including guitar-based impressions of animals, birds, insects, vehicles and mechanical sound).

I say watch the EYES WIDE OPEN DVD that is some pretty fine work! I still think that a combination of The Power Trio and the KC Trio would be the best....combine the two into the next Double Trio.
