AdsOnQ stands for: Article Distribution and Syndication On Quikonnex. For those who are not familiar with Quikonnex, Quikonnex is the RSS feed server that powers AdsOnQ. It is the system which allows AdsOnQ to syndicate content all over the Internet, and through which that content can be spidered and indexed by all the major search engines.



Trina L.C. Sonnenberg, the publisher of AdsOnQ, has been using the Quikonnex system since 2003, with tremendous success, not only with AdsOnQ, but with the Internet marketing ezine, The Trii-Zine Ezine, ISSN# 1555-2276.



Quikonnex feeds are referred to as channels, in part because one can subscribe to a Qchannel much the same way cable TV channels are subscribed to, insuring that you only get the information you want to receive.



So what makes AdsOnQ the article marketing, online advertising resource that beats the rest?



It is a well known fact that the best way to promote anything is to target your efforts to those who are already interested in what you have to offer. We had the greatest pleasure to interview Trina L.C. Sonnenberg, the author of her memoir: Forever and Always... A True Love Story. Quite interestingly Trina shares the secret of her success as an entrepreneur giving much stress on RSS syndication as the most influential form of advertising.



Here goes our today's interview.




Couponboa: What is your name?

CB:: Where are your from?


TLCS: Originally from Madison, Wisconsin; currently from Nucla, Colorado. I have lived in Colorado for 13 years now.



CB:: Tell us something about your business, your goals and key achievements.


TLCS: I started writing promotional copy for syndication through my web site, AdsOnQ, in 2004, after successfully moving my ezine to an rss feed, I realized that the nature of rss was perfect for advertising. I have been able to write copy that gets indexed within the first few pages of Google, based on keywords, for most of my clients. In fact, I have held a page one position for AdsOnQ through the use of the key phrase, online advertising solution, for the last six years. By writing content based on a clients' business, I can get listed on the first pages for keywords, and thus drive traffic of interested people, to their web sites. People want information and I give them that. From there, I began writing books. I have published two books since 2007.



The first is a collection of poetry 'My Journey' a Lifetime of Verse, and photographs and the second is my memoir, 'Forever and Always... A True Love Story'.



CB:: How did the idea for this business come about?


TLCS: It all began with the moving of my popular ezine from email distribution to rss. I got tired of the hassle of all of the email rules and bouncing and discovered a better way to make sure my readers get what they want to read without depending upon ISP and other email regulators to deliver my messages. Most of my readers were using AOL at the time; therefore, they were not getting the information they signed up to receive. When my ezine succeeded through rss, I realized that rss could mean a great deal to advertisers in the way of Google indexing and content management. Search engine spiders like content not five line ads.



CB:: What is the startup story behind your business? When did it start?


TLCS: In 2003 I was introduced to Quikonnex, my content management service and rss feed provider. Through collaboration with other feed publishers, we came up with the idea of leasing out our services to business people looking for a way to get indexed on the major search engines. By 2004, AdsOnQ was created and I am the last remaining member of the original think tanking group that gave birth to the idea. I ran with it. The others lost interest in the idea, but I have been successful with it.



CB:: How many hours do you work a day on average?


TLCS: I am usually at my desk for 6-8 hours each day, depending upon what else needs my attention. It depends upon how many clients I am working for at any given time.



CB:: What's your definition of success, and do you believe you've achieved it yet?


TLCS: I believe that to be successful one must be engaged in activities that they love, and be surrounded by people whom they love. So, I feel extremely successful; I have met each challenge I've faced, head on; I do what I love and love those I live my life with.



CB:: What motivates you?


TLCS: Doing what I love (writing) motivates me. Work is not work when you love what you do. As a child I dreamed of being a writer, and I have succeeded in that goal, and now I just keep on going in that direction. Helping others who need motivation and safety also motivates me. I am a survivor of many unpleasant things and I hope that my experiences will help others overcome the challenges they face.



CB:: What is your greatest fear, and how do you manage fear?


TLCS: I have nothing to fear, so I don't spend any time on it. I look to the positive side of every situation, and run with that. Fear holds people back and I do not wish to be restrained.



CB:: If you had the chance to start your career over again, what would you do differently?


TLCS: I would go to college.

What is Forever and Always... about?



Originally intended to be marketed as fiction, it is my life story, or at least the most important parts of it.



Why did you decide to sell it as a memoir rather than fiction?


I feel that the message it contains would be better served if readers knew it is a true story, not something plucked from my imagination.



What prompted you to write this book?



Years ago, a friend of mine told me that my life would make a great screen play. After a great deal of thought, I decided to write a book instead.



Why should people read it?



I have an important message to share with female readers in particular. Mine is a message of empowerment. I have experienced an enormous amount of tragedy in my life, but I've come out on top, by refusing to be beaten and believing in my heart of hearts that life was meant to be better than it was.



What makes your story different from all of the others like yours?



I am an ordinary person. I am not a movie star or other public figure, who, quite frankly seem untouchable by ordinary people like myself. Every famous person has a story to tell, I'm sure, but an eventful lifetime adventure about an ordinary teenage girl as she becomes a woman of adventure, is easier for the average person to relate to.



My story is a testament to both true love and the Law of Attraction in action in my average, everyday life. I want others to know that they can direct their lives and transform them into exactly what they want them to be, and how to do that. All it takes is focused attention and undying belief. We all have the power with in ourselves to change the circumstances in which we live. No one has to be a victim of, or in their lives. All change comes from with in. If you want it bad enough, you will move toward manifesting it in your life. You can draw your heart's desire to you. My story proves that.



When was your book published and how can someone get a copy of it?

Have you ever wondered how people get your phone number to call you about home business opportunities? Have you ever wondered why the phone rings constantly with someone pitching you on the newest most guaranteed business opportunity?

Recently, I received in the mail (snail mail) a magazine put out by Home Business Connections and I leafed through it. It didn't take me long to put it aside, because of the 50 pages it contained, only 16 of them were devoted to articles, and the majority of those articles were sales pitches for a business opportunity, or a testimonial of some sort for a business opportunity. The rest of the pages were devoted to advertising.



Ordinarily, that wouldn't surprise me, but what did knock me for a loop was the magazine's cover price. To buy a copy, the cover price listed was $5.95 U.S.. Why on earth would someone pay that kind of money to read advertisements? This publication must be making money hand over fist, if they are making money on 34 pages of advertising and selling those pages for six bucks a pop to the reader.



On top of that, most of the ads didn't have much, if anything to say about the business opportunities themselves except that you can make a lot of money if you sign up at this web site or that one, or call this phone number. I looked at some of these web sites, and they don't typically tell you anything either. You have to surrender your contact information to get any information about the opportunity. The icing on the cake is that none of these information request forms promise not to sell your information. BINGO! That is why your phone rings off the hook at dinner time.



If you enter your contact information, your entry is sold to the highest bidder and your phone begins to ring. That is how leads are generated. Are you one who buys leads from brokers to further your business opportunity? Well, this is one way those leads you buy are generated. Not very reliable, if you ask me. Look at the ads on television for business opportunities. You are directed to a web site that requires your contact information, not a web site that contains any information on a specific opportunity, and once you enter that information, it is sold to recruiters as a lead. This is done under the guise of matching you to the perfect home business. But what is really going on here is that you enter your information and it is sold to as many recruiters as possible (profitable) and after listening to endless sales pitches, you decide what, if anything, you are interested in.



Another way that these companies generate leads is to have you fill out online surveys. Once you participate in one of these surveys, you will get phone calls from retailers, colleges and all manner of businesses trying to sell you something. Why do they call? Because it is easier to sell you something if they can get you talking, or at the very least, listening. It is far easier on the conscience to delete and email than it is to hang up on someone. If they can get their pitch out to you in the shortest amount of time, they have a higher chance of getting you involved; getting your money. That is why these folks read from scripts and talk incredibly fast while they're doing it.



How does one avoid this hassle? Don't fill out these online forms. That is part of the answer at any rate. There is nothing you can do about people who would go online and fill out these forms in your name, but at least when that happens and you do get a call, you can say that you never requested this information good-bye. No guilt involved there.



I ran into a problem with someone signing me up for services through my phone bill, simply because they knew my phone number. I discovered this when I called the company that posted charges to my phone bill to discover that the person who signed me up for this $15.00/month voice mail service did so using my maiden name. That helped me figure out who it was that did this. There are only a handful of people with any motivation to do something like this, and even fewer who know my maiden name and phone number.



The company posting the charges was quick to reverse them when I told them that the phone number they charged was not even listed in my name and that my husband was the only person who could authorize such charges to the account. Can you say lawsuit? They could, and quickly refunded the charges, but it didn't stop them from adding charges to the account in the future. It has become a monthly ritual for me now, to call this company and complain.



Now tell me, why would I spend $15.00 a month on a voice mail service when I get voice mail as part of my regular phone service? You'd think that my telephone company would catch that, but they didn't and what's more, they didn't care, until I refused to pay those charges. When asked, they said they can't block the charges, so I simply told them that I couldn't pay them. That was the end of that. You see, the phone company pays the charges to the submitting company, and you have to pay the phone company back, but when I told them I wouldn't pay for those charges, that my husbnd didn't authorize them my, phone company was quite upset, but have still done nothing to block them.



Some people think it is a funny joke to do such things, but it isn't funny and it is no joke. Be careful about who you give your information to. There are a lot of programs out there that pay people to fill in these forms and they don't care what information is entered into them as long as it generates a lead; information that can be sold.



My son, at the age of 16, was getting phone calls daily from recruiters looking to sell him on a home business opportunity, because someone thought it would be funny to use his information in some of these forms. When I would tell the caller that he was a minor, they'd pitch me as his mother.



Guard your contact information. People worry about identity theft to the point of paying companies to protect it yet they don't think twice about filling out contact forms online. It's crazy. Just because you see something published in a magazine doesn't mean it is credible either. Like I said at the beginning, the magazine I received was 34 pages of ads telling me to visit web site X to collect my contact info. Don't buy into this. Your phone will never stop ringing and you'll never stop hitting the delete button inside your email box. Stop filling out online surveys too.



Here's my rule of thumb: If a site doesn't contain a privacy statement and full disclosure of the intended use of my information, I get out of there as fast as I got there. The fact that this disclosure is not on site makes it illegal in the first place, and do you really want to become involved with an illegally operating business? I don't think so, Dear.

Contextual Advertising... The Good, Bad and Ugly
Everyone who has built a web site or blog wants to, or should want to , monetize their space on the web. Google invented AdWords, and the contextual advertising venue was launched; there was a new way to monetize space, expending minimal effort on the part of the web space holder. But, there are many more contextual advertisers than Google.
A New Direction
I began my Internet career trying to promote a company that I believe in; Melaleuca. However, through a process of trial and error, I came to realize that no matter how much I knew about or believed in the products, I was not good at getting people to wrap their brains around the concept of switching stores to buy the things they already shop for. Getting a better product for the same cost was not something that others seemed to grasp. I enrolled a great many people, but they all quit me and went back to shopping at the stores they had shopped before their introduction to Melaleuca. The problem was that they continued to shop for inferior products at their regular store, and viewed Melaleuca as an added expense. The whole idea behind Melaleuca is to redirect the money already being spent each month on these types of products to the Melaleuca store, not to spend extra money on things that you normally don't use. No one seemed to get that. If you can't afford to shop at Melaleuca each month, you're still shopping someplace else.

Mike Filsaime's Open Source Code for Butterfly Software is not what it is presented to be. I thought I'd check out this offer since so many people have paid thousands of dollars for this software, and now it is open source. I thought, 'Great!' Well, it is not truly open source and it is not truly free either.

    Haha, I didn't even know that the internet was around 20 years ago. It's older than me...

    Anyhow, I got into SEO and internet marketing just recently. I get a pretty steady flow of traffic from article directories such as EzineArticles, so I know the importance of the article marketing craze and encourage it. To all those reading this, what her company does is legit and works.
