Advanced Metal Roofing wants to spread the word about making the right choice in choosing a metal roof for your home. Benefits of metal roofing include a long life of the roof, low maintenance, energy savings, and a great look to compliment any home.

Metal Roofing Is the Right Choice for Your Home

Top Ten Reasons for A Metal Roof on Your Home

Metal roofing is not just for commercial and industrial buildings anymore! There are a number of great reasons to choose a metal roof for your home. We invite you to contact Advanced Metal Roofing to talk with one of our experienced salespeople and schedule a free estimate for a new metal roof for your home.

Here are our Top Ten Benefits of Metal Roofing:
  1. Energy Savings - That's right! A MetalMan Roofing System only from Advanced Metal Roofing can save you up to 42% on your heating and cooling bills. This is because the Cool Metal Roofing technology allows the roof to reflect more of the sun's rays than alternative roofing materials, such as asphalt shingles, thereby decreasing the amount of heat transferred into your home. Advanced Metal Roofing sells ENERGY STAR qualified roof products, backed by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the US Department of Energy.

  2. Reduced Pollution - You can make your own contribution to the Green Movement with Cool Metal Roofing by choosing the MetalMan Roofing System. The reflective properties of metal, while saving you money in energy costs, are also helping to save our environment. If you're using less energy in your home, the power plants will need to burn burn LESS fossil fuels resulting in less air pollution for our environment.

  3. Sustainable Materials - Yet another way that you can contribute to the Green Movement with Cool Metal Roofing is by reducing waste in our landfills. Asphalt shingles generate about 7 millions tons of waste every YEAR! When we install your new metal roof, sometimes we can even put it right over your current asphalt roof for added insulation and to save the waste that would be generated by those shingles. A metal roof contains a significant amount of recycled material itself and has a much longer lifespan than alternative roofing materials so it doesn't need replacing nearly as often.

  4. Low Maintenance - A Galvalume sheet metal roof for your home is projected to last 30 to 40 years before any major repairs might be needed. That's over 20 years longer than traditional roofing materials, such as asphalt, are expected to last before major repairs. This lowered life cycle cost offsets the inital cost of the roof, making it an affordable and long lasting choice for your home.

  5. Durable - Galvalume metal shows a great deal of resistance to corrosion and the metal itself does not crack and peel in sun and weather. It has also been wind tunnel tested and is known to withstand strong winds. The durability of this material makes for a long life for your roof, adding value to your home and savings over the long term.

  6. Fire Resistant - A basic property of most metals is that they have a high melting point, preventing them from burning when faced with high heat. Therefore, your metal roof is considered fire resistant when properly installed and grounded, and can protect your home from from sparks or even lightning in some cases.

  7. Lightweight - The value in having a lightweight metal roofing material is that you can retrofit it over your old roof, saving time in the installation because they won't have to tear off the old roof, and saving all that waste from going in the landfill. This can reduce the interruption in your home while the new roof is being installed, add a greater level of insulation, and prevent damage that might occur if a storm were to happen during the tear-off.

  8. Flexible - The benefit of such a flexible material is that you have options in the look and style of your roof. You can choose the more commonly seen panels, or copy the look of tiles or shingles.

  9. Wind Resistant - Most metal roofing systems have been tested to meet wind resistant classifications. This is especially important to consider if you live in an area prone to high wind storms or hurricanes. Metal roofs can also be installed using wind clips or storm anchors to secure the edges of individual metal shingles or panels.

  10. Aesthetics - Last on this list, but not least, is many people's favorite reason to choose a metal roof for their home - IT LOOKS GREAT! People love the look of metal roofs and especially love the metal roofing colors. A metal roof can really add to the uniqueness, curb appeal, and aesthetic value of your home.

    Great article!

Most people aren't even aware that metal roofing is an option when it's time to replace their roof.

Hopefully there are contractors who can show the cost savings over time of metal versus traditional shingle roofs. Quality costs, but is often more cost effective over time.

The resale value of a home must go up immensely when the perspective buyer knows he won't have to deal with major roof repairs for 20-30 years.

Thanks for letting us know about this great alternative!

My husband and I are considering a metal roof for our existing home. We live in Alabama and are getting several quotes from local companies. It is expensive to have a replacement metal roof and we are still trying to make up our mind. This is a well constructed lens and I appreciate the helpful information.
