Path of Moonlight, Fire, and Ice
(What is Adventure Quest?)
The Path of Moonlight, Fire, and Ice is a way for Adventurers to take advantage of two powerful classes in Adventure Quest which are accessible by non-Guardians.
The first part of the path is the Lycan/ Vampire sub-race. The armor for this race is cheap and better than the armor in the shops, especially at low levels. With two specials powers, heightened defenses, and access to a companion, these sub-races will prove to be extremely powerful. This is Moonlight part of the path.
The second part of this path the Mage class. The Mage attacks are better than any spell a low-level character can purchase, and better than most mid-level spells. Adventurers are restricted to Level 5, but that still gives access to Fire, Ice, Wind, and Earth attacks. This is the Fire and Ice part of the path.
To Begin
Adventurers need all the help they can get. They don't have access to sacks full of potions and the Guardian blade. So it's important for a beginning Adventurer following the Path of Moonlight, Fire, and Ice to visit Warlic and figure out how to get the Pet Rock companion.
As for equipment, it is recommened that the Adventurer start with a Fire Blade and a pet of some kind. Low-level shields are not very good, so save your money. If you insist on buying a shield, get a Fire Shield, because it will help with the Stat Trainer.
You cannot access Darkovia, where you'll choose to be a Lycan or Vampire, until Level 5. Until then, save your money and work on Random adventures or low-level quests. You can start upping your stats when you level up, but stop at 5 (because it's free).

Professions
When you hit Level 5, go to Darkovia and chose to be a Lycan or Vampire. Both are equal as far as abilities are concerned. Both also have access to a companion, a bat (Vampire) or wolf (Lycan).
Mage
You're going to start doing major damage when you become a Level 2 Mage, when you get Fire and Ice attacks. At Level 10, go to Warlic and begin your Mage quests. If you don't have enough money to buy your Mage robes, just go ahead and do the first (qualifying) and second (Level 1) Mage quests anyways.
You can alternate between racial quests and Mage quests until you max out. When you do max out, you must choose your own path.
Special Considerations- Combat
Do you engadage as a Mage and issue the final blow as a Lycan or Vampire? Do you save your mana for a tougher opponent, or does your Lycan/ Vampire form have a greater advantage?
Stats
If you have a clear vision of where your Adventurer will be by Level 50 (the max level for Adventurers), then feel free and do what you want with stats.

Where To, Afterwards?
Because an Adventurer is limited to Level 5 in each class, it might be a good idea to develop many other classes for your character.
