    Hi Chuck
I agree that one of the reasons for the AI's disappearing is because of their women marrying into another community. Unsure of why this is happening but one possible reason for AI women marrying outside their community is for security reasons. All too often we hear and come across stories of many Anglo Indian men who are just not competitive enough career wise in mainstream Indian society or wanting to improve their career prospects or further education. They are quite happy to chance their luck. Hopefully they will go abroad or land that great job as a team leader in a call center in India. Alcoholism is also quite rampant amongst AI men including drug usage and I feel these traits play an important part in an AI woman's decision to (sometimes reluctantly) marry outside the community and have their name changed. I guess the feeling must be 'so what if he's not of the community and can't sing or dance (jive). At least he's a good provider'. Thus the AI community is absorbed into mainstream Indian society. Can you think of anymore reasons why AI's are disappearing?

It will be interesting to hear other's views on this subject!!

    Regards
