I know it can be frustrating when you've made a lens you are really excited about, you think everyone will be interested in, and then your numbers don't look so hot! Well there are people out there interested in the same things you are, maybe they just don't know about your lens yet.
E-mail and Word of Mouth
One of the best ways to let your friends and family know about your lens is through e-mail! All you have to do is write them a friendly e-mail and include your link! Tell them a little about your lens and why they should view it. It help if you sound excited and enthusiastic in your e-mail!
Word of Mouth
At your next family gathering or get-together find a way to talk about the subject of your lens. Then let everyone know if they want to read more about it they could visit your lens and give them the link! Most likely they will be interested because not only is the subject interesting, but they know the person who made the page!
Keywords
For example if your page is about banana bread but one of your keywords is orange, search engines probably won't show your page when someone wants the recipe for banana bread.
The best way to choose the tags you will use is by thinking of words you would search for when looking for the subject you are writing about. You could also check out Squidaholic they have a free Keyword finder, to find out if your keywords are being searched for, plus if you search for the subject of your lens they will even suggest popular keywords for you to try!
LensRoll
The other way to lensroll your lens is by going to Lensroll.com This is a site that is similar to Digg.com where they will allow you to submit lenses and others can view and "roll" your lens. To "roll" a lens means to vote on it. It is polite to stick to submitting 2 lenses per day so you do not bury other lenses. This also helps your lens get viewed because everyone else sticks to the 2 lens a day rule as well! You can maximize your traffic potential by viewing, commenting, and rolling other people's lenses, but you do not have to do that.
Digg
Stumble Upon

This site is pretty amazing, I would have to say! It's one of the more interesting ways to drive traffic! StumbleUpon is a site that allows you to submit web addresses (url's) and others can "stumble upon" them.
You can also download their tool bar and join in on the "stumbling"! I have found some really cool websites using this tool! Plus you can make friends and send them your websites that you think they would be interested in and when they push the stumble button it will automatically take them to your page!
MySpace

There are two ways you can use MySpace for advertising purposes!
First
If you already have a MySpace account you can add a link to your MySpace profile so when other's view your profile they have the opportunity to read about your lens on your front page!
Second
You can send bulletins, including your links to your lenses with a description of why it's so cool, to all of your friends! Make sure you aren't spamming though! No one likes a spammer and most likely you will be deleted from other's accounts.
You can either use your MySpace account that you already have or set up a brand new one just for your squidoo lenses. Then you can search for friends and utilize the steps above!
Watch out though, MySpace is very addicting!
Team Sugar
Team sugar also allows you to earn points, add friends, chatter, and much more. It's very well set up and they have lots of sister sites in case your articles happen to fit into a more manly category!
Del.icio.us
Plus Squidoo makes it really easy to submit your lenses to Delicious because if you view your lens you will find a little button that directly submits your lens automatically! It is located under your profile information on the right hand side!
Squidoo even offers a Twitter module you can ad to any lens to advertise what you've been up to! Plus Squidoo makes it very easy to update your Twitter account by adding a little button to your lens that links directly to Twitter!
Face Book

Facebook is similar to MySpace. Feel free to use your existing account or create a new one! Add your links to your profile page, and tell a little about them. Make sure it's interesting so you intrigue your reader and they want to click on your link!
Remember you are the author, who better to advertise your work!
Teen Chat and Other Chat Rooms
I recommend using TeenChat, Yahoo, or MSN they all have great chatrooms filled with people!
Forums
Once you are familiar with forums you can find other forums on the net. Make sure to read the rules, you don't want to get kicked off! Some forums do not allow self-promotion. Which that is what you will be doing by posting your links.
A great forum I use is Money Talk Pro They will also pay you for participating in their forum! Most forums also allow you to add a signature to your post, I recommend using at least one of your links in your signature.
*hint* You could use your lensmaster page!
Blogs
A blog is like a public journal. It's a cool way to update friends, family, and fans about what your up to! I recommend using Team Sugar or another site that is like Team Sugar. Stumble Upon offers a place to blog as well as Yahoo, MSN, Blogger, and many more!
Lensography
It's really simple to build your lensography, I recommend organizing it well though. If you have 5 lenses on one subject and 2 lenses on another make 2 different categories.
For an example of this check out My Lensography
Join a Group or Make Your Own!
If you can't find a group to fit your lens build your own! It's as simple as building a lens, plus you will be the groupmaster, so that leaves you in charge!
The Key to Success
It's also alright to take a break every once in a while! Squidoo can be very addicting because it's so much fun! Make sure you are eating enough, and make it a goal to excercise! It helps clear your mind so your ready to build that next page!
