You're probably aware by now that Aerophobia, or the fear of flying, can be a crippling condition if you are required to travel by air frequently. However, this can be easily overcome using the right methods. In this lens, I will give you some pieces of advice for fear of flying to help you understand your phobia better and pinpoint the exact roots of your fears... then I will give you a very simple solution that will enable you to conquer all your fears, free of charge!

Advice For Fear Of Flying #1: Know Your Fears

The first thing to do is to know just what's causing you to be so afraid of going on a plane. This might consist of a few reasons...

1.) You're worried about the plane crashing.

2.) You feel cold and alone inside the air cabin.

3.) You're afraid that there might be a terrorist on board the same plane you're in.

You may also have other reasons of your own, and that's okay! Just ask yourself, 'Why am I so afraid of flying?' And you will start understanding where all the root causes are.

Advice For Fear Of Flying #2: Think About It Objectively

Once you've understood where all your fears are coming from, the next advice for fear of flying is this: Take a step back, and think about your worries and fears as though they're not your own. What would you think if someone else told their fears to you?

Let's take the 3 previously-listed reasons for examples here.

1.) Plane crashing. Well, thousands of planes are on the sky right this very moment, and none of them seem to be crashing anytime soon. Come to think of it, there weren't any crashes yesterday, or the day before either!

2.) Feeling alone. Your friends and family might not be with you when you fly, but hey, guess who's sitting next to you on the plane? People! Try talking to them - they'll usually appreciate a bit of conversation, and you could even make a new friend.

3.) Terrorists. Think of it this way: More planes have crashed than were destroyed by terrorists. And if you're worried about planes crashing, read #1 on this list again!

When you try and look at your fears objectively, you'll usually find that your fears are mostly, if not completely unfounded. Take a deep breath and relax; you've got nothing to be afraid of!
