- to save time from moving from one hotel to another or from an island to another, by public means of transport
- to save money from extra accommodation fees and hotel taxes as well as ferry or even plane tickets
- given that cruises ships are travelling during the night in order to have a reached a port by the morning, gives you the opportunity to move while sleeping thus saving time that you would spend for travelling
- your budget is almost fixed as food is usually included in the price so you are not at risk of running out of money
- it is ideal for families with young children as the cruises ships have a lot of kids areas
- it is easy for socializing as you travel with a lot of people
- you can see a lot of different places within a short time, especially thanks to the shore excursions that lead tourists exactly to the highlights of each port of call
One could find many more while cruising!
The fact that a great amount of people prefer cruising rather than staying at one specific place while on holidays, has lead cruise companies to invest a lot of money in that field in order to be as attractive as possible by offering people high quality services adjusted to the needs of modern people. Dependent on their budget, one can find several cruise types performed during various seasons of the year and in the most exotic places of the world.
Given that Greece is one of the most popular holiday destinations all over the world thank to the plethora of islands it consists of. The fact that they are located closely makes them a perfect cruise destination as the ship may visit even two of them within one day. At the same time, each of them has a unique beauty and having the chance to visit at least the highlights of them is can turn to an exciting experience.
Want to see how such a grandiose plan can be implemented??? Let me present you one of the most popular greek islands cruise for 2012; Aegean Legends 3 day cruise!

Aegean legends cruise

The unequalled beauty of greek and turkish coasts

Mykonos Greece

Departing from Piraeus port on Fridays from March 18th to November 4th, it stops the ports of Mykonos, Kusadasi (Ephesus - Turkey), Patmos, Heraklion (Crete) and Santorini. Let's see what passengers can see at each of the port mentioned, separately:
Mykonos: It is the most cosmopolitan greek island, the princess of the Aegean Sea thank to its incomparable beauty deriving from whitewashed lanes and picturesque neighborhoods, long golden sand beaches, a big shopping area with famous international brands, cosy cafes hanging over the sea, plenty of beach bars and night clubs as well as a plethora of various cuisine restaurants. Mykonos is the meeting point of international celebrities and it gets really crowdy during the summer.
People can sail to the neighboring Delos island which is one of the most important ancient sites of Greece.
Kusadasi: Once having disembarked at Kusadasi port, grasp the chance to pick a guided sightseeing tour to the ancient town of Ephesus where you will get absolutely impressed by the splendor of Diana's Temple which is one of the Ancient World's Seven Wonders. The tall Celsus's Library will embarrass you. Trust your guide who will lead you to the Thermal Baths of Scolastica, The Great Theatre, the Odeon, the Temple of Hadrian, the Gate of Hercules and many more imposing ancient buildings. On the way back to the ship, you have the opportunity to visit the flea market of Kusadasi town where you can buy several local objects or just walk along it.
Patmos: This is the holly island where Saint John wrote his Apocalypse. You can vist his Grotto where he lived as well as the Monastery of the island which houses a library containing priceless books and manuscripts.
Santorini:: Once having arrived at the port of Santorini, you can reach the capital of it, Fira, either riding on a cute donkey or by the cable car. You can select among plenty of alternatives such as a visit to Oia, a typical Cycladic village with the traditional Aegean architecture of white washed houses and narrow paved streets. Oia has been listed as a World Heritage Village and it has been set under special protection since then, in order to preserve its unique beauty. Of course, you can see the famous sunset of Santorini from that point. You can also join a boat trip in the caldera during which you can visit the volcano and even swim in the hot springs. It is a unique opportunity to take amazing photos of the caldera and of course the famous sunset. What is more, Fira is the place where you can go shopping or for a drink with a view to the volcano. Stroll in the picturesque lanes of the island and enjoy the Cycladic buildings and the cave houses that make this settlement so special. Santorini has primarily amazing sceneries that excite visitors so do not forget your camera because you will definitely need to capture as much as possible from it. I would also recommend you try the locally produced Visanto wine and local dishes with fava or fresh fish!
The ship will depart for Piraeus in the evening. You can have a rest during the night aboard and then start your new day, maybe in Athens!

It is an amazing ancient town. Grasp the chance to buy herbs at the local market of Kusadasi and taste as much as possible lacal dishes when you are in Crete!!!
