The Shape Of Things To Come

Have you done your sudden surge of exercise for the year, now that summer appears to be arriving? Did it take long for you to decide what form the exercise would take - or do you have an old favorite to fall back on?

People are still divided on what the best type of exercise is to do and the options range from aerobic through to and including yoga. In my opinion it's down to the individual and their current fitness level, but, a balanced mixture of most of the exercise disciplines would seem to be the best way to go as they tend to target different fitness areas, and don't all work on the same muscle groups.

In fact, if you want to get everything off to a good start you could do a lot worse than going through a total body detox before you even begin your exercise regimen. Refresh the insides, and you'll feel a lot happier about how you're going to sort out the outside of your body.

In the following articles we're going to look at two types of aerobic exercise you might want to try out in order to kick start this seasons exercises, actually these ones may even make you want to keep the exercising going. Both are targeted at being convenient for you, one you'll be able to do in your own home, and the other you'll even be able to do while on vacation - without looking too silly while you're doing it!

So read on and let's get your healthier body underway.

Aerobic Videos So You Can Train At Home

Aerobic videos tend to work on all parts of the body, as they get the heart to beat at a specific rate and keep it there all through the workout so you'll be able to get the most out of it. These videos will be at least thirty minutes in duration, and they include a warming up and then a cooling down period of stretching, these really should be included in all exercise programs that you plan on trying out. If there's a specific video series that you want, you're going to have more chance of finding it online. Buns of steel of is a widely used series that includes a number of aerobic videos, and is specifically for areas like your legs, arms, abdomen, and your backside.

The Billy Blank's Tai Bo collection is also an extremely good set of videos that combines the fundamentals of tai chi and kick boxing, giving you a total body workout that is going to help all the major muscle groups, and make some major improvements in cardiac and lung health while it's at it. As you'll see with other aerobic video series, Tai Bo workouts have been produced to cater for people with widely varying levels of fitness.

Beginners will not be expected to do all of the movements right the first time they have a go at them, and care has to be taken not to try to do too much too quickly. The heart rate really needs to be kept in the heart rate zone for the person's age and level of fitness, and the intensity level should then be increased as the level of exercise becomes more bearable. That's just two series out of many that are available, and a variety is just the ticket to stop the whole process from getting boring, and to make sure your routine stays challenging.
